So I'm volunteering for the Farm to Fridge Tour when it comes to Erie, PA tomorrow. I'm doubting that there are any locals on here who are going but has anyone else done this (or is anyone planning to) for MFA? I'm pretty excited about it, just thought it was something worth mentioning to see if anyone else was going to be a part of it!

One of the very best groups, in fact! I wish the Farm To Fridge tour would come through my home state. I'd be stoked to help out with it. Sadly I live a very long way from where you live.

You're gonna be leafleting? Have you leafleted before? I find that my acceptance rate goes up if I greet people with a friendly smile first, then ask "Info to help animals?" while clearly showing them the cover of the pamphlet. Some people like Vic Sjodin go so far as to say things like "Hey, you look look really compassionate!" or "You look like you care about animals!" and apparently that works really well on some crowds.

I'm sure you'll do great. You look like a natural to me. Just go out there and knock it out of the ballpark. We believe in you!

That was probably the most encouraging thing anyone has ever said to me! =]
I'm pretty excited to get involved with it to, where I'm from there's never any kind of stuff like this, so it's nice to finally have a big event like this.
They need volunteers for several different things, so I'm not sure if I'm going to be leafleting or wearing this tshirt that has an iPad on it that shows the movie (how cool, right!?). But it would be my first time leafleting, so no matter what this is bound to be quite the experience.
By the way, I appreciate the help, and while I'm not sure how a person can look like a natural at leafleting, I totally dig that concept. =D
Thanks!

Let us know how it went! I missed the FTF tour when it was here

By the way...guess who I sat next to last night? If your guess is "The extremely good-looking President and CEO of the Humane Society", you get a cookie

Hmmm, did you get to sit next to my humane hunk? Because if so, I'm pretty angry! xD

But anyway, the event was soooooooo much fun. Unfortunately there wasn't much of a turn out (evidently their earlier one that I couldn't make it to had a slightly better turn out AND the local media was there) but it was still great. And oooooohhhhhhhhhmyyyyyyyyyygoshhhhhhhhhhhhh Phil and Vic (the fellas in charge) were soooooooo hunky xD
We did manage to get the message out, and there were a couple guys who were legitimately interested (they even asked for DVD's the the movie and everything) so that's always a nice outcome. But I feel bad for the people who didn't go, they totally missed on out free vegan cupcakes and some super sweet guys =]

Dammit! The wife is NEVER an obstacle if you know what you're doing, you shame me... xD
I did have loads of fun. It was ultra inspiring too. They told me they would be waiting on me to become a Dietitian so I could fund the vegan revolution. Fun stuff.

I don't know if you've ever met the guys in charge of the FTF tour (Phil Letten and Vic Sjodin) but if you haven't and you get the chance to work with them (they also do some work for Vegan Outreach) you absolutely have to. You'll never meet friendlier people than these guys.
