Over on vegweb we had a huge thread called the falafel fan club. I was wondering how everyone here feels about falafel.

Everyone who likes falafel should join the club and share there experiences with recipes, new toppings, conversion attempt, etc.

Here's my recipe. I'm always modifying it though

1 large can chickpeas

1 small onion

5 cloves garlic

a handfull of fresh parsley

1 stalk celery (optional I just got this idea and have only tried it a few times)

1/2 T cumin

1/2 tsp coriander

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp sea salt

1 tsp nutritional yeast

1/3 cup whole wheat flour

blend all these in a food processor.

put some olive oil in a pan and use a spoon to shape the falafel patties on. Fry them until they are brown and crispy on both sides

Try it as soon as possible. If you don;t, you'll wish that you had earlier. Trust me, other people have gone through the same thing earlier

the cans I use are 540 ml.

that's just over 2 cups but it would be a little less one they are drained. Either way, it doesn't have to be exact.
