I've had my little mouse for about two months, the hair around his face is thinning & he is scratching his ears.I've treated him for mites & lice so i'm pretty sure it isn't that. I read in a mouse book that his symptoms could indicate he has a peanut allergy,i couldn't find much information about it so was just wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I've removed peanuts from his diet, apparently it can take 2weeks before his skin will begin to clear up, it's been a week already & sometimes i look at him & think he looks a little better & other times i'm not so sure.He is very well in himself, he's eating/drinking/running around as usual. It's just the skin on his face & ears that look sore, i'm going to take him to the vet if there's no change in another week, but until then i'm just looking for some advice really

I recommend you go to an exotics vet, not a regular vet. They'll be educated in the special issues of mice. "Regular" vets see so many dogs and cats they don't get a chance to learn all the unique stuff that exotics vets do.

You know that if rodents get too much protein they sometimes develop sores. Maybe it's that?. No experience with allergy in mice.

I know they do well on quinoa.
