Exercise question...

1615 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  onyx
I love to exercise! With my lifestyle and time constraints, it works out better for me to do several shorter intervals of exercise a day rather than one longer one. I mostly walk, jog, do aerobic type videos, and do yoga. I try to be active for at least an hour every day. I was wondering, is there any benefit to longer exercise sessions? For example...if I have an hour total to jog/walk in one day, is there a benefit to a one hour jog over two 30 minute jogs? I just don't seem to have the time or inclination to exercise for more than 30-45 minutes at a time and I hope my results will be approximately the same.

Thanks for any words of wisdom.

Aerobic exersise has to reach 60-80% of your max heartrate for 20 minutes to do any good. To find your max heart rate subtract your age from 220. Thats the max,set your target rate at 60-80% of that figure.
