I was looking forward to the soccer game yesterday but not having cable I wasn't able to watch it. ESPN is slowly taking over sports and I have a feeling it's only going to get worse. Do you feel they've become too powerful?

I agree. We didn't have cable forever and there were many games we couldn't see because of it...

And about that soccer game... I'm so disappointed in my US ladies...

I have to agree. In the beginning, I had ESP, and that had a pretty limited range. If my cat was on my lap, I could tell what it was thinking, but that was about it.

Then I upgraded to ESP-g. And I could tell if the cat was hungry or thirsty or had a dirty litterbox, regardless of where I was in the apartment.

When ESP-n came out, I thought it would be even better. So I upgraded once again. But I started picking up the thought's of neighborhood cats, all day and night, even from blocks and blocks away. Very confusing and annoying.

So I recommend sticking with ESP-g. ESP-n is too powerful.

Disney owns them, and Disney is by no means a swollen juggernaut. By no means.

I need to get ESP-g, then. My cat's preferred method of communication is climbing on my chest and chewing on my beard. Only problem is, that can mean anything from "my water bowl is empty" to "I want to chew on your face now, hope you don't mind". Sounds like it could make my life easier.

I didn't watch any of the tournament, but I caught this game and I was impressed. It was refreshing to watch a soccer game that didn't involve players flopping around the field and taking dives and whining to the refs. If all soccer games were like that I'd be inclined to follow the sport.

I don't watch ESPN. They don't show enough hockey.

That's odd because there used to be a lot of NBA playoff games on your regular networks but today ESPN has a lot of the games and there's a lot less NBA playoff games on your basic networks. Do they just show some sports a lot more than others?

I live a five minute walk away from ESPN. . But no, I've never had any problems with them, anything we've wanted to watch, it's been on either ESPN or the Speed Channel. We've even be able to watch the DFB-Pokal.

There are people in America who don't have ESPN??? It's in every basic cable or satellite package. With the end of "broadcast" television, if you have a TV, how can you not have ESPN? I don't get how a soccer match only being broadcast on their network could be a problem for anyone.

I know I didn't have cable up until a year ago.

A few years ago my beloved Phillies were in the playoffs and we couldn't watch some of the games because they were on ESPN... It sucked royally....

+1

As long as ESPN stays within the realm of sports, which are boring as hell, I don't mind.

Last I had read 75% of the American population has basic cable so 25% doesn't. I'm not sure what the current numbers are. It is expensive so there are a lot of people who can't afford it.
