hi everyone~

i sometimes post on vegsource as e l i z a b e t h (but not very often)...

...so i finally found where all the vegsource castaways post! i've even seen posts from people here who haven't been around vegsource in years! i was wondering about that...

first thing i want to say is that i really like/appreciate that this site is ad - free and not for profit.

so how do i find out what gets censored here (if anything)? i don't want to do anything that will result in my posts being removed.....

anyway stuff about me (more than you need to know):

vegan since july 1992... 26 years old... richmond, va... and right now i'm planning my first real garden (since high school) and i'm really excited about it!

i'm more of a lurk-er than a post-er, but i'll probably post every so often...

Welcome Elizabeth. You can pretty much just be yourself around here. Sometimes there's a few heated debates and the mods will interject if necessary, but its pretty laid back for the most part.

Stick around, enjoy yourself.

PS: Love the Avatar Towelie

Hello Elizabeth! Nice to have you here. We won't censor your ideas, you pretty much have to make a direct threat toward someone to have your post edited. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

First off - i just have to say that i *adore* towelie! heh heh!

I'm an ex-vegsourcer myself, the last name i commonly posted under there as was 'sylvrhawk'..

Needless to say I'm loving it here a lot, though i am still feeling rather censorship-paranoid thanks to that other place..

i'm sure i'll get over it soon though - i spend way too much time here.. *g*

OZ: no need to feel censorship paranoid. As mentioned, and as you've probably seen by now, this place has a lot of diversity, a lot of good folks, even if some of us don't always agree on things

michael: i'm sooo relieved to hear that! wow, true freedom of speech on a msg board... imagine that! it might take a little getting used to...

obsidianzebra: haha... yeah, towelie is the ****! and i recognize your v.s. name... (i rarely posted but visited a lot...) about being censorship-paranoid: ditto! i think i'm gonna like it here... (hahaha... i can't believe i can actually say "the ****" here!)

Well, I'm in Canada so we get the "new ones" on Friday nights on the Comedy Network. But I am pretty sure the US gets them first. The one tonight was "new" as far as I know. It had Cartman and the boys mixing "semen" (they thought it was Sea Men like little men that swam in the sea) with Sea Monkey powder.

It had its moments

Oic, ok... it appeared new to me because basically the "seamen" built two cities and worshipped two "Gods" and then proceeded to suicide bomb and ultimately, blow each other up.

It seemed kind of relevant to what's going on around us today.

Thanks. South park Studios is one of my bookmarks.

Just curious... how did you find this board? I'm actually curious just how many former VS'ers are here now... it's great that people are finding that there are alternatives available and, among them all, it lets folks make a decision on where they feel most comfortable.

I've actually only seen three of them, a friend of mine has the dvd with the first three episodes. I really liked them though, so yeah, I guess I am. And when I saw the picture I thought it would make a cool avatar.

someone i know from vegsource told me about it... we were (privately) discussing the whole soap opera-esque happenings from a couple of weeks or so ago... anyway i wondered where everyone went when they left v.s. and he gave me the link to this site.

...i knew there was another place that existed, and had known for a while, but until he told me i just wondered where it was. the url isn't permitted on v.s., i'm sure... otherwise i would have heard about it long ago.

michael: if you haven't seen the 'creature comforts' animated short, try to find it and watch it! it's an interview with animals in a zoo... it's really, really good... definitely worth the effort of seeking it out...
