I listed "having more sex" as a new year's resolution. I really should. It would liven up my life, for sure. I have the perfect man to provide it at home, too. But I have this medical condition which causes, among other things, a painful dryness "down there"... I know I need a lubricant (water based & all, I know all about it). Only I am too embarrassed to order it in the pharmacy. We do not have OTC drugstores like you have in the USA or this would not be a problem I guess... Anyone have any ideas ?? This would be a great "gift" for us as a couple anyway, I have been giving out other kinds of attention for ages now but nothing beats the good old missionary stuff imo... Thanks for any advice !

good ole KY Jelly worked great for us while I was on the pill and a bit more "dried out". Its what the doctors use at the GYN office and its totally safe.

have you done a search online? Like google or yahoo? I guarantee that there are tons of mature and safe online stores that you could buy from.<br><br><br><br>
Ok.. I went ahead and did one for you.. Don't know if you are vegan but here are just a few vegan lubricants from reputable stores:<br><br><br><br><a href="http://www.veganessentials.com/catalog/sensua-organics-vegan-lubricant.htm" target="_blank">http://www.veganessentials.com/catal...-lubricant.htm</a><br><br><br><br><a href="http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Personal_Care/Lubricants/" target="_blank">http://uk.dir.yahoo.com/Business_and...re/Lubricants/</a><br><br><br><br><a href="http://www.veganstore.com/body-care-and-vitamins/shaving-and-personal-care/glyde-premier-lubricant/Page_4/552.html" target="_blank">http://www.veganstore.com/body-care-...age_4/552.html</a>

wouldn't pure aloe vera gel be ok to use? *someone confirm for me please?* if that is the case, you can probably buy a tube of it at your local health food store or natural food store, its pretty much chemical free, vegan, and noboby would automatically think 'oooh, thats lube, she's gonna be getting some' if you were embarrassed about that kinda stuff... as its a really good natural moisturiser, used for things like burns, blisters, wounds, dry skin, acne, etc.

We use coconut oil. It is gentle and edible so it i safe to use (unless you also use condoms)<br><br><br><br>
Aloe vera is also a good suggestion --but watch out for one that contains alcohol--it can dry you out further.

I'd look online at an adult shop, for water-based stuff. Slippery Stuff (a brand) was a decent one we have used... Astroglide is good but don't use too much or it is *too* slippery... and KY liquid is good. I was never a fan of the gel-like lubricants at all, myself.<br><br><br><br>
And it's not embarrassing. It happens to everyone at some point. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/wink3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=";)">

I agree with order online <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D"> Is there a <a href="http://www.drugstore.com" target="_blank">www.drugstore.com</a> equiv? That place rules for embarassing purchases!!<br><br><br><br>
But you could be using lube for other things... like.. ENEMAS!!<br><br>
See? Much less embarrassing.

I actually prefer silicone based lubricants, which can be used with condoms. They stay slippery much longer, and even underwater. I was also going to suggest coconut oil if you don't use condoms.<br><br><br><br>
Don't be embarrassed. I've seen Penile Support Slings at Meijer (a store.) Now THAT'D be embarrassing to buy! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/laugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""> If I was a dude, I'd be tying that bad boy to a popsicle stick before I got one of those babies.

KY suck-diddly-ucks IMO. I second the recommendation for silicone lubes.I'm not sure what you have available to you in Belgium, but Eros is the brand I like.<br><br><br><br>
Definitely shop online, there are TONS of online stores for that sort of thing. Either that, or send the man into the pharmacy to get it. I'm sure he'd be willing considering the reward. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D">

I like Millennium ID silicone.<br><br><br><br>
And also, don't be embarrassed because someone is thinking "Ooh, she's gonna get some" WHO CARES? Yeah..you are. SO? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/hump.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":hump:"><br><br><br><br>
Do you have sex toy shops there? Or are those a no-go since you can't get it OTC, meaning you have to have a prescription; or can you get it OTC, you just have to ask for it because it's behind the counter? If you do have sex toy shops, that's what they specialize in. You wouldn't/shouldn't be embarrassed because that's ALL they specialize in. If lube is the only thing you buy, that's pretty mild to them.

It's not prescription but I'd have to ask for it, yes. I'm not a prude by far but I'm just not used to buying this stuff, esp. not from a pharmacist I know. I should simply go into a pharmacy I never use I guess. The water based thing is something the doc told me. I don't know the reason but it has to do with the nature of my medical condition I guess. Anyway, thanks for all the info, I really feel better about it already. You girls don't sound hung up about this at all... (hmmm... maybe I am just <i>older</i>... that could be it !). And yes, I suppose my husband could get it. He does buy my pads and tampons sometimes and doesn't care. But lube ? They're going to think he is gay ! Eeeek !<br><br>
Anyhow. Yes. I suppose it's worth getting over my inhibitions for...

missbelgium, no worries! Yeah, we all had to get over it because we DID buy it from a local pharmacy and had to pass our lube purchase to a 16 year old boy to ring up along with our tampons and pads. We blushed like a rose the first couple times but you get used to it!!!

I would buy online either way, after awhile lubes you can get at the pharmacy (in the US anyway) tend to get sticky. The stuff you order or buy from a specialty store is much better quality.

This brought to mind a funny story. My "manly divers" are having to dive cold water and the dry suit neck seal irritates their skin (this is normal). So to help prevent irritation and not tear up the neck of the suit, KY Jelly is recommended. But they wouldn't go buy it, out of fear of embarrassment. I don't get embarrassed that easy, so I bought several tubes for everyone. LOL, I wonder what the poor young man ringing me up must have thought as to why I was buying 6 tubes of it!!!<br><br><br><br>
OK, back to our scheduled program.

Order it online.<br><br><br><br>
Or tell me the brand and I'll buy it for you and mail it to you. You can send me a money order or something.<br><br><br><br>
They may even carry it at Sams Club or something and I could get you a case of it if you wanted!!!<br><br><br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D">
