Hey I'm walter, I've been a Pescatarian for 4 years now. The only reasons I haven't gone full vegan is for my family. In asian culture there are two things you never say no to at a meal.. Rice and fish. (I've never even been a fan of fish to begin with)

I'm really anticipating a more vegatarian lifestyle when I'm on my own in university next year. I love reading ecological ethics, and I'm feel very inclined towards the biocentric code of ethics. :nerd:

I'm currently reading "Why we love dogs, eat pigs and wear cows" by Melanie Joy
... and I'm feeling very crazy about raising a full grown pig as a friend >:D

Welcome to Veggieboards and congratulations on your transition to vegetarian!

I love Melanie Joy and that's a great book as well, very thought provoking. :D

If you are looking for motivation to stop eating fish I highly recommend reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer next, I was already vegan when I read it but there was a lot of information I didn't know.

I read an excerpt of his about fishes.
Relevant point on the bycatching.

I'd like to quit fish soon, though I only eat fish when its actually offered me..

It's interesting though, I think, how important fish is in Asian culture.
