Wait till you see where it comes from..not that I can post or talk about it on here because promotion of ethical eating is not allowed in the vegetarian section.

i really do admire vegan's it would be easy for me to give up eggs and milk but the constant having to check if there is milk powders etc in foods would drive me insane.

Yeah, it can be annoying, but I usually do that only with processed products I don't know. I did it a lot when I move to the UK. Once I've done it, I stick to the vegan ones I've found, then no more hassle !
And anyway, I don't buy much processed food, so it doesn't drive me insane. Veggies and fruits tend to be vegan, generally

Maybe you just got some bad eggs?

I've never been a huge egg fan -- scrambled eggs were ok as long as they were well cooked (not runny at all). My husband loves poached eggs, but I couldn't handle them unless there was absolutely no runniness to the yolk at all (which, according to him, defeats the purpose). I'm not sure if it's just a texture thing, or fear of salmonella food poisoning. Anyway, I'm so glad I have found tofu scrambles, and especially egg subs in baking (you can eat the dough without worry!).

I've always thought egg tastes a bit funny. I'm a sucker for french toast and spanish omelets though.

Mine come from the chickens sitting outside my window...

But in any case, sometimes eggs are just.... off. Or, i you haven't had them in a while, you could've lost your taste for them.

The thought of a pre-foetus chicken type thing that didn't have a chance to develop being in an egg sandwich is kinda gross, as is the thought of eating one raw. As a vegan I wouldn't eat them now obviously, but the idea of eggs being in something like Quorn doesn't and never did gross me out, but the idea of scrambled or boiled eggs does kinda.

Eggs are something I don't really miss, but every now and then (and by every now and then I mean maybe once or twice a year) I will just really, really want to make a good ol' omelet. And that's something that can't be done (not really...I know there are recipes out there but they aren't the same) with tofu.

Tofu scramble? I'm down with that, no problems. Replacing eggs in baked goods? I have all the subs down pretty well. French Toast? The recipe I use beats any egg form recipes any day for me.

But omelets? I miss them and just want one every now and then.

And I have nothing ethical against eating eggs. I have ethical problems with HOW the eggs are brought to our tables, however, and have chosen to avoid them.

But if I could find a farm where the chickens are truly treated well I would buy eggs from them. Maybe not on a regular basis, but every now and then.

And I believe I found such a farm not too far from me. Their chickens are truly free range (they are outside during the day and kept in a coop over night for their protection from predators) and they are fed a diet of various veggies and flax seeds (and bugs and grass, as chickens do.)

The eggs are nearly $6.00 for one dozen. I haven't bought any yet, but probably will next weekend. And I will make a marvelous omelet.

The farm is Grant Family Farms from Wellington, Colorado, by the way. From what I've heard about it and seen online about it the farm truly does seem like a good place to get eggs from for those occasional cravings that nothing else can really satisfy.
