I ran in to this on another board and thought that some people here may be interested. xo.

If you are into raw foods and tribal living, you are invited to the:

August 27 to 31, 2003

Outside Eugene, OR

On The Land, In The Woods

A 5 Day convergence of Earth-centered humans creating minimal impact,

indefinitely sustainable life beyond Taker/Dominator culture.

Info: (541) 683-7464 P.O. Box 51237, Eugene, OR, 97405

Eco- ecological; Earth-centered; indefinitely sustainable, minimal

impact living; respecting all living beings both human and non-human;

equal members of the Earth and Web of Life (rather than masters of).

Raw- a natural, unadulterated, unprocessed state; an exceedingly health-giving

and harmless way of eating and living, in harmony with the laws of

Nature; eating the foods Mother Nature provides as she provides them.

Tribal- a social organization of humans that has proven to work; not civilization;

a flock of geese, a pod of whales, a tribe of humans; a long-term

interdependent grouping of humans which lives out a common cultural

Gathering- a coming together of like minds; a convergence of hearts and

souls; a respecting and a sharing.

__________________________________________________ ______________________________________________

The Tribal Gathering is not about preserving the American way of life (or

technological society, or taker culture, or civilization, or

totalitarian agriculture). Its about actively and lovingly creating a

way of life that will endure after civilization ends.

We invite you to spend 5 days on the land for a powerful gathering of

Earth and Life conscious humans. Our goal is to bring together those who

are dedicated to living as equal and vibrant members of the entire

Community of Life so that we can share information, inspire and support

each other, and connect for future efforts.

If you are sincerely interested in or actively involved in any or many

of the following: culture change, permaculture, raw and living foods,

continuum/attachment parenting, un-schooling, natural/home childbirth,

deep ecology, tribalism, practical peace action, radical

environmentalism, direct action, anti-globalisation, indigenous rights,

rights of all living beings, ecological building, open and loving

communication, simple need based living, bartering, gifting and non-money

economy, foraging and wildcrafting, Nature Cure, fasting and vibrant

health, walking, cycling and non-petroleum transportation, grounded

conscious living, ecological living, getting beyond civilization,

understanding humans as part of the web of life, or any other aspect of

minimal impact, Earth-centered, indefinitely sustainable living

We invite you to participate in the first

This gathering is about deep FREEDOM: freedom from dogma and preaching,

freedom from plastics (especially disposables), freedom from petroleum,

freedom from substances and ways of being that discourage presentness,

freedom from taker and dominator thinking, and, as far as possible,

freedom from market economy and endless growth economics. Because this

is an autonomous event (no corporate or government funders), and there

are real expenses to organize and run it, we ask a donation of $83 per

adult and a sliding scale fee for children up to 16 ($5 for each year of

age). If you honestly cannot afford the money but would like to attend,

then offer SUPPORT: Time, Effort, Energy and Things. Many hands are

needed before, during and after this event to make it successful. If you

can donate more than $83, please do. It will be used wisely.

We sincerely believe that this is a thrilling time to be alive. A

dramatic shift in humans relationship with the Earth and all living

beings must come soon, if for no other reason than because an unlimited

growth economy is bound to fail on our planet of finite biomass and size.

That change may be years or decades away, but not likely centuries or

millennia. In this time of transition and transformation we hope to

bring together those whose hearts nurture the light illuminating

civilizations gloom.

We hope to see you at the ECORAW TRIBAL GATHERING. Wishing You Peace,

Love and Joy!!!

P.S. Please copy this info and pass it on to those people you think

would like to attend the Gathering. Thanks!

but by new minds with no programs at all. ~Daniel Quinn, The Story

of B

THINGS TO KNOW (please read carefully):

*** The Gathering will take place on a beautiful 75-acre homestead south

of Eugene, OR. There are forests, meadows, gardens, and a creek to cool

off in.

***We will send directions after you confirm youre attendance. Shuttles

to/from Eugene, OR will be available for a small fee. Arriving by low

or no petroleum methods is encouraged.

***Usually nights are cool, mornings dewy, and days warm to hot. Skies

are usually clear and cloudless in August, but one never knows

***Campsites are provided, but no accommodation. Bring sleeping gear,

tents, etc.

***All learnings are a sharing process, usually in discussion circles,

counsel, participatory presentations, etc. We hope for the participation

of all, including those listening.

***This is a living gathering. Many events will be organized in

counsel the night before in addition to the scheduled events. There is

no one right way for the Gathering to unfold. Plan to be flexible and

leave any preconceptions at home.

***Artfulness and creativity in all aspects are highly encouraged. There

will be music, dance, poetry, spoken word circles, and more.

***Expect to meet lots of like-minded folks. Meeting and introduction

circles will be organized.

***If you have a talent or skill to contribute let us know.

***Bartering, trading, sharing and gifting will be the main forms of

exchange. There will be a cash sale period on the last day. There is no

space for booths, and it is not a consumer show. You may want to bring

some of what you usually sell and a blanket to display it on, however.

Raw, organic, and Earth-conscious preferred.

***Utmost respect for this beautiful and diverse land is expected. PACK

IT IN. PACK IT OUT. Absolutely no trash should be left behind. As far as

possible, leave no footprints. Compost bins and humanure composting

bucket toilets will be available. Bring toilet paper if you need it.

***Food: This is a raw vegan gathering. We respect all dietary choices,

but for environmental, health, sustainability, social, political and

peace reasons this is a raw and live gathering. Communal meals will

be raw vegan, but dietary policing is highly discouraged. Bring enough

food for yourself and a case or so to share i.e. avocados, bananas,

melons, lettuce, etc. Contact the Food Coordinator for suggestions and/or

to let us know what youll bring. If you are walking, cycling, etc. and

can not bring food to share please contact the Food Coordinator. The

land should have an abundance of berries, wild greens, cultivated greens,

and vegetables from the garden, but dont count on it. Be prepared.

Communal meals will be prepared in work parties. Please let us know if

you can bring large mixing bowls, cutting boards, etc. Bring you own

bowls, plates, cups, water bottles, utensils, and cloth napkins. These

will not be provided.

***Take responsibility and expect to help.

***No illegal drugs, alcohol, or cigarettes on the Gathering grounds.

Really. We mean it!

***No fires. Fire danger is very high in Oregon during the late summer.

***No pets.

***Many hands will be needed before, during and after the event. If youd

like to come early, stay after, or help with organizing, please let us

***Babies and children are welcome.

***Please confirm your participation as soon as possible by sending your

donation in money order or check made out to Living Garden. Be sure to

include the name of each participant, phone and mailing address. J

veganaconda - those are lyrics from a dead prez song called 'be healthy'.

if you like you should try and .info and .org also, check out some of their books.. they're cheap and have some pretty good ideas.. however, the writing style and romanticism may start to bother you. also check out if youre into anarchist/radical left politics.
