I hace recently been experiencing symptoms of lactose intolerance. My mom has agreed to not put dairy products in my school lunch, so I am not bothered by the symptoms at school, however, she insists I eat dairy at home. So I am looking for some vegan snacks I can eat at home, so I eat, but not dairy. I want things that I can buy at any grocery store, and are on the go type snacks. I have been subsituting my usual yoghurt snack for bread and junk food, which is obviously not healthy.<br><br>
So, does anyone have any suggestions? I guess I should stock up on Amy's pot pies, anything else?<br><br>

What about soy yoghurt if you like yoghurt? I can't have it cause I'm soy intolerant but I've tried it a few times and to me it tasted fairly close to the real thing.

I did a Google search and found the following suggestions...<br><br><br><br>
Whole-grain crackers, pretzels, mini rice cakes, and fruit slices with almond butter. Fresh cut-up fruit with vanilla soy yogurt and granola. Raisins, trail mix, applesauce, fresh berries, fruit smoothies, popcorn. Dry cereal. Dried fruits. Breadsticks or pita chips with hummus. Graham crackers dipped in apple sauce. Rice cakes with peanut butter. Granola bar or multi-grain bar. Vegan jerky. Fruit leather.<br><br><br><br>
My favorite thing to do (not sure how this would keep in your lunch) is to cut up an apple, orange, banana, and add some blueberries for a fruit salad. My fiance likes to mix Craisins, raisins, sunflower seeds, peanuts, etc. and make homemade trail mix.<br><br><br><br>

those are the best bars ive ever eaten. you have to make them though if you dont mind

- Tings (cheesy like cheese curls)<br><br>
- pita chips/veggie stix<br><br>
- avocados with a little salt<br><br>
- make up some pasta salad or spaghetti salad that you can just grab from the fridge and eat cold. It will keep for several days. Some delis have non-dairy, vegan versions.<br><br>
- hummus on crackers<br><br>
- chips and salsa

I'm converting to veganism and here are some of the snacks I've been eating (or trying to eat, I've been eating bad things too):<br><br>
apples with peanut butter or hummus<br><br>
carrots with hummus<br><br>
frozen grapes<br><br>
soy chips/ crisps<br><br>
soy yogurt<br><br>
grapenuts with soy milk<br><br>
grapenuts with soy yogurt<br><br>
bagel and soy cream cheese<br><br>
fake turkey slices on pita bread<br><br>
snow peas<br><br>
edamame (soy beans)

A bag of baby carrots.. mix with lettuce.. rabbit food prepared.<br><br><br><br><br><br>
but really, just a little bag of carrots or an apple. Just some straight raw produce... is really all you need for a snack.

-Vegan peanut butter. (Peanut Butter & Co. owns my soul.)<br><br>
-Hummus! I highly suggest making your own, though. It tastes so much better than store-bought and you can get freakishly creative with it.<br><br>
-Fruits and vegtables are an obvious choice.<br><br>
-Nuts.<br><br>
-Dried fruit.<br><br>
-Salsa. Once again I reccomend making your own.

things that are calcium-fortified, like cereals, soy or rice milks, fortified orange juice, almonds, broccoli, etc.

Were LUNA Bars mentioned? Those are my go-to snacks. I like dipping my pretzels in mustard. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/drool.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":drool:">
