I'm worried about B12 and decided to start getting nutritonal yest.

I would like to know some easy and chep recipes that I could make daily.

EDIT: I meant the ones with B12.

B12 is usually added to nutritional yeast, so you don't necessarily have to eat nutritional yeast to get B12. If you buy nutritional yeast, make sure you get a brand where the B12 is added. Taking a supplement would be another way of getting B12.

You might be interested in this book from Jo Stepaniak:Nutritional Yeast Cookbook. Lots of interesting recipes.

I'm terrible at all things dealing with cooking, but my mom and I faked a macaroni and cheese recipe. We essentially used the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese recipe except replacing the cheese with nutritional yeast and some spices, and the butter then cooking it like normal. It tasted great!

Anyway, if your only purpose is to add B12 to your diet, there's other options. But nutritional yeast is pretty tasty so you should try it at least once.

I sprinkle some yeast on a salad almost every day. But every other day, I pop a sublingual (that means it can actually talk to submarines) Methylcobalamin B12, which is a different type of B12 than what I assume is in the yeast.

Most definitly popcorn! That's about the only way I used my first tub!
BTW, my Whole Foods bulk section has nut. yeast that doesn't have B12! I don't buy it there anyway, but was really surprised.
I like it sprinkled with Braggs amino acids (or soy sauce/teriyaky) over steamed veggies.
Whole grain toast with earth balance and nut yeast.
Italian bread with garlic and olive oil under a broiler- sprinkle with nut. yeast

Just got this from Chloe Coscarellis blog:
http://chefchloe.com/on-the-side/veg...-crackers.html
Sometimes I'll just like saltines and sprinkle nut yeast! Only alone.

Apple slices dipped in nut yeast-or sprinkled!

I have a delicious cheese sauce recipe made out of it but since it works in your body the same way MSG does I try not to eat more than 2 tsp a day. Take spirulina tablets or brewers yeast supplements

A recipe from my blog.....

1/2 cup vegan margarine
2 tbsp corn starch
8 oz vegan cream cheese
1 cup of soy milk or rice milk
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast flakes
2-3 garlic cloves minced
salt & pepper

In a small saucepan, melt the margarine (v) & add corn starch.
When thickened, add the vegan cream cheese & stir
continually until it is melted. Once cream cheese is melted, add the
remaining ingredients & stir until mixed & thickened.

You can add this to any pasta you like,
personally I like tagliatelle pasta.
I also like the combination of broccoli, mushrooms & zucchini.
Add what you like or just throw it all over the pasta alone!

Say what?? Can provide a source? I've never heard that before. Actually, just how does MSG work in your body? I recall a study that disproved the whole headache/stomach problem thing.

Yup. Jeffrey Steingarten covers some studies that undo the myths behind the evils of MSG in "It Must Have Been Something I Ate."

Oh, well if MSG isn't bad then neither is nutritional yeast. The problem is it digests quickly in your body and the yeast overstimulates your glutamate receptors which over time can cause nerve damage
