so my mom has a pair of feather and sea glass earrings - mind you, they're gorgeous, but not my thing - that are probably older than I am. she recently found out that one of the cats absolutely ruined them. she asked me if I could find her some new ones, but I was thinking maybe I could just sort of repair hers with the molted tailfeathers of my birds... they'll be multicolored, but so is the sea glass, so I think it'd just add to the prettiness. plus, I know my birds are treated like gold, so it seems sort of like a recycling type of thing.

feedback/criticism? I'm seriously leaning towards repairing them, but the finished product would probably end up being a Christmas present, and since technically they were already hers, I don't really know if I'm just being cheap, or if I'm being crafty. (my boyfriend says I'm being cheap, and I'm starting to wonder.)

(edit - if this is in the wrong section, I apologize.)

I think if they come out looking good, you are being not only crafty but being ethical by not supporting animal cruelty.
