As many of us Aussies are aware, the 2011 duck hunting season in Victoria commenced over the weekend. The slaughter has begun and thousands upon thousands of ducks - and other species - are set to be killed. Duck hunting seasons have been banned in many other states, yet the Victorian government seem determined that the practice continue - despite the fact that 87% of Victorians support a ban. Please see my feature article about VIC duck hunting season below if you are interested - and please feel free to comment under the article if you are so inclined!

I've got a feeling Victorians have got Buckley's of seeing duck shooting banned under a Liberal government. They never give a stuff about anything other than the economy and corporate interests.
It's a bit sad that they're having to run competitions for hunters to win prize money to encourage people back to duck shooting because interest had been waning in recent years.

In this news clip, check out what the dickhead with the gun says to the protester when he saw that she had blood running down her face after being shot.
