I have just been to Costco, and could not find my favorite veggie patties.

Don Lee Farms are you going to have this at another store soon?

Might have to cancel my Costco membership - and rally my friends to do the same. Why go to Costco???????????

Why cancel your membership just because you can't find certain veggie patties at Costco? There are plenty of other things you can get at Costco. Unless the only reason you have a membership is so you can get these patties.

I never heard of Don Lee veggie patties, btw.

An excellent question and one which certainly warrants eleven question marks. Maybe even twelve. But anything more than that would be grandstanding, and frankly I don't cotton to that sort of malarky.

I would think a better reason for the membership of this fine board not to go to Costco isn't because of what they no longer sell, but rather what they do sell: Hundreds of millions of pounds of meat a year.

Surely I am not the only one to be amused that someone got their nipples in a twist over veggie patties to the extent that they would join veggieboards just to launch a protest over it.

Anyway. I'm sure a representative from Don Lee Farms will be along any minute to clear this up.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! !! !! ! !! ! ! ! ! ! ! !! ! ! ! !

Try talking to the manager at Costco and tell them you want them back. If enough people make a stink, maybe they'll stock them again. My mom's been shopping at Costco longer than me, and she says their stock also canbe kind of unpredictable so it may just be that they don't have them this week.

I hear ya, TJ, but there's a severe shortage of strictly vegan grocery stores, y'know??

Veggi-crazy,

Don't cancel your Costco membership, but do let them know how much you miss the veggie patties.

Here's an email address for contacting them:

[email protected]

I emailed Costco over the weekend and received the following reply:

"Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale.

"The item has been discontinued. It is our goal to provide our members with the highest quality name-brand products while keeping our stock focused on the best selling items. Since we price our items as low as possible, all items must demonstrate high sales in order for us to continue to stock them.

"Our buyers occasionally review the possibility of re-introducing deleted products. I will forward your e-mail to them so they are aware of your interest."

This makes me believe that if a sufficiently large number of members request them to restock the patties, they might consider it.

If anyone who reads this resides in San Diego, please send me a pm and I'll send you a phone number where you can call Costco local purchasing department to make the case to restock Don Lee's Veggie patties.

I also contacted Don Lee Farms by email ([email protected]). They confirmed that Costco is no longer stocking them in San Diego, and that they don't sell through anyone else.

While trying to convince Costco to restock the patties, I'm also trying to convince Don Lee Farms to increase the retail avenues through which they sell their patties. Because these are by far the best veggie patties I have ever eaten
