I've always hated that dog smell until I got a puppy. Now i stick my nose into her fur and inhale her adorable little puppy scent. (Is that weird?) Recently my cat of 5 years whom I've never attempted to smell, came close to my face and I buried my face into her fur like I do my dog for the first time ever(I am weird, aren't I?). She smells like baby powder.

you're not weird at all. one of my cats smells like chocolate, and I had a dog in high school who always smelled peppery.

IME, every cat has a very individual scent, and to me, all have been pleasant. My Sassafras smelled like a fresh haystack warmed by the sun - his was my all time favorite scent. I used to be able to tell all my cats apart with my eyes closed, just by their scents, but then I lost a good deal of my sense of smell.

Not weird at all! My cats smell great! Everytime I pick them up to give them hugs and kisses, I intentionally smell them!

My female rats smell like grape soda! I love smelling them.

My male rat smells like... a rat... but not stinky at all. He just doesn't smell like the females.

My cat Ted smells wonderful, like a very faint perfume.

My cows smell sooo good, like warmth and earth and fur. And there is a certain place on their face where I think there must be a gland, it smells soooo sweet.

Cowboy doesn't smell quite as good as Poppy. His body smells fine (usually!) but his breath is a bit "doggie"l. Poppy, on the other hand, I could just bury my face in her fur and breathe forever. I love the way she smells.

Not weird at all. I had a small dog when I was at my parents house. I used to take her, lay her on my lap and bury my face in her tummy! sometimes i'd make farting nose and she'd flip and starts to lick my mouth i miss her a lot.

I used to loveeeeeeeeeeeee her paws scent. I still reminisce about them, when i go visit my parents, i'm always excited to go see her and smell her paws... Now THAT is weird

I don't find animals disgusting especially when they live with you. My dog smells me and then lick me I shall do the same to show her love (just not licking). My mom used to smell our hair all the time. And when i get emotionally attached to a person, I like to smell them and lock their scent in my memory. That scent will always have a fuzzy warm feeling for me.

I love the way dog paws smell. Generally, I like the smell of big dogs' paws better than small dogs' paws. (Don't tell my Jack. )

Timothy the guinea pig has a wonderfully grassy summer field type smell. It's excellent in the five seconds or so before my nose clogs up from breathing in too much hay

My male rats have always smelled a bit like a cinnamon and honey combo, I kind of like it. I miss having rats. I'm also the odd person that actually likes the way a well cared for ferret smells, a bit sweet with some musk. Kind of like the liquid form of Metacam.

Pheromones/scent play an important role in attraction, bonding, etc.

Quote:

My bunnies smell sweet and grassy, like the hay they eat. Whenever they allow it, I love to bury my face in the fur on their back. I also like to kiss them on top of their little bunny heads, and smell their sweet hay smell then.

That's how my bunnies smell, too, all fresh and summery and grassy. I love it. I just bury my nose into their fur and inhale.

I find that my bunnies either smell like their hay, like RabbitLuvr was saying, or they smell like whatever fruits and veggies they were recently eating. They also often smell like me - picking up scents from whatever body lotion or shampoo or conditioner I've recently used. Often, it's a combination of these things, mixed with their own natural scents. The scents vary, but they're always so nice!

Not at all...puppies smell incredible. My parents bred one of our dogs when I was a kid and I think its the smell they get from mum's milk that makes them smell so sweet and incredible. They smell like that for a while even after they stop nursing.

It might sound odd, but I love the smell of my ferrets even though they are traditionally regarded as stinky. They have an odd honeyish/alcohol smell like whisky or something. They always leave smelly traces on me after I hold them and people notice it lol. There's a Cafepress t-shirt that says "I don't stink! I just smell like my ferret." I might have to buy that lol.

PS...is the redfoot in your avvie yours? Very nice I would love a tortoise but I'm waiting to find a rehome.
