I'm yet to see anything conclusive about the health benefits of a vegan diet. Which is not to say you shouldn't do it (it's certainly a good idea for other reasons), just don't expect it to be magically super healthy.
No worries! the calcium matrix is laid down in your enamel a long long time ago- when your teeth were still forming when you were a little baby. Calcium stays there and doesn't leave there ever. It simply is impossible.
You must not be looking very hard b/c there is conclusive evidence all over the place. Drs. Dean Ornish and Caldwell Esselstyn have shown that a fruit.veggie centered vegan diet reverses heart disease, and T. Colin Campbell showed meat and dairy's effects on cancer in one of the largest dietary studies ever done--The China Study.
