Go to Indian recipes websites and you'll find recipes for Indian-style veggie burgers made mostly out of potatoes and grains and masala.

That is a nice list, Joe. I had my very first veggie burger at the Hard Rock Cafe...and I still think it was the best that I have ever eaten. Does anyone happen to know how they make theirs?

<b>Lentil Burgers</b><br><br><br><br>
2 cups cooked lentils<br><br>
1 cup mix of whole grain bread crumbs<br><br>
1/2 cup wheat germ<br><br>
1/2 tsp salt<br><br>
1/2 Tbs celery seed<br><br>
1/2 tsp pepper<br><br>
1-2 tsp garlic powder (or 1-2 cloves of garlic, minced)<br><br>
1/2 a large onion, grated<br><br>
whole wheat pastry flour (it just happened to be the only flour I had)<br><br><br><br>
Mix all ingredients but the lentils and flour.<br><br><br><br>
Mash the lentils only a wee bit more than lightly and mix with other ingredients. Form palm sized patties, just under an inch thick. Dredge 'em through the flour and then fry on both sides in hot olive oil.<br><br><br><br>
Makes 4-5 patties. Optional: Melt slices of vegan mozzarella on patties and serve with tomato slices and onion sprouts in a whole grain bread sandwich.

It's not homemade, but I do have to stir in the water!<br><br>

Here's my recipe:<br><br><br><br>
Tofu Walnut Patties or Burgers<br><br><br><br>
½ block firm tofu (½ pound)<br><br>
1 cup oatmeal<br><br>
1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs<br><br>
1/3 cup gluten flour, (optional, but it helps bind the ingredients)<br><br>
1 onion, chopped<br><br>
½ cup walnuts, finely chopped<br><br>
1½ teaspoons or 1 cube beef-style bouillon<br><br>
¼- ½ teaspoon garlic powder<br><br>
1 teaspoon salt<br><br>
2 teaspoons savory or your favorite poultry type seasoning<br><br>
1 cup water (more or less depending on type of tofu used)<br><br><br><br>
Crumble tofu into fine pieces similar to cottage cheese. Combine oatmeal, bread crumbs, and gluten flour together and add to tofu. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. (I usually use my hands.) If using bouillon cube, dissolve in the water before adding to the mix. Be careful with the water and add only as much as you need to make a good mix that is not too wet. Fry slowly until golden brown or bake on an oil coated cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, turning after 10 minutes. This mixture may also be used for meatballs.<br><br><br><br>
Makes about 24 small patties or about 16 larger patties.<br><br><br><br>
These patties are delicious just as they are or may be served with gravy or pasta sauce. They make an excellent hamburger or are great in a cold sandwich.

Here are some very good burgers from Veg-City Diner. I have made this recipe 3 times and I really love how easy and yummy it is.
