Do you use the buddy system when you and your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend/significant other shower or bathe, or do you take turns? Mr. Tess and I share the shower all the time. We never even really discussed it-- it's just the way it is. We've been showering together so long it feels weird to be in the shower by myself. (And no, I'm not talking about anything particularly, err, steamy here, just regular bathing! Although I guess if you're into steamy showers, more shower to ya.) When we were looking for a house, I mentioned in the realtor's presence that the shower in one of the houses we looked at wasn't nearly big enough for both of us, and she seemed kind of freaked out by it. Is this normal to you, or weird?

Boyfriend and I share the shower. It wastes less and we get out of bed at the same time anyway.

Besides, we do everything else together. No reason for the shower to be any different.

nah. we live with his mom, and I'm not sure how she'd feel about that. besides that we wake up at different times.

I remember once I was on the phone with my brother, asking if he'd give mom the phone, and he said they were in the shower. My friends were all weirded out that my parents shower together... I never knew that was weird! I guess my parents are hippies

Since we're currently living with my folks we tend to take seperate showers. We have showered together a few times before, although I'm not so sure it conserves water lol. Next month we'll be in our own place...so who knows what we'll do then

I would not turn down yet another intimate moment to share with someone. It's kind of like the same way you would want to be with her shopping, gardening, etc. It's another life experience to share.

When I was married, my husband hated anyone disturbing him while he showered - he said it was his 'meditation' time I thought that's what sitting on the toilet was for!

My current significant other is my pillow.

I don't think she would like to get wet. So no shared showers here!

Can't wait to cuddle up tonight though. Shes so soft!

We do it every saturday. I'm not sure it save that much water which is why we don't do it on a school day. But I *love* having him wash my hair......I do like to have a bath where he bathes me. There is nothing like having someone you fancy squeezing a big soapy sponge of water down your back. mmmm.

My folks always showered together and it was no big thing. My in laws, however, were horrified that we did it once when we stayed at their house. We came out the bathroom door and my MIL was staked out waiting. She knew Spiderman had gone in to shower and then she couldn't find me and got very hrumphy (is that a word?) about it. It's not like we were getting frisky...we were running late so jumped in together.

Apparently, tess, your shower is bigger than mine!!! We cannot shower together and both get very clean all that easily. Which is why showering together is exclusively for... hmmm.... not getting cleaned, hehe.

I never did. I am not big for being naked in front of anyone S0 or not. It's hard to shower with the lights off...so I just never bothered.

One time, he came in the bathroom just as I was stepping out. I freaked out, slipped, and tore down the whole curtain

I love showering with my SO. It doesn't have to be sexual (although it surely can be) to be enjoyable. It is an intimate moment that is beautiful. I would prefer a shared shower over a solo one anyday.

Although that is a bit tough when she is on a different continent

I think you are misunderstanding. Most people who shower daily aren't showering together other than that they are there at the same time. We don't wash each other. It saves water because one person is soaping while the other is rinsing and one person can't do both at the same time. I maybe spend 2 minutes waiting when we shower together so that is about the extra time it takes vs 8-10 minutes for a second shower.

Sometimes we do it for fun and sometimes we do it when we're trying to hurry up so we can go somewhere.

Your body image hang ups sound like they would seriously get in the way of a relationship.

So THAT'S why it takes us so long! ha ha---Yeah, we like to bathe each other so that doesn't really save time or water. Probably an environmental sin so that's why we only do it once a week. But yeah, I can see how that could save time. And nearly every shower ends in being frisky so.....

we have but only when i stayed with him in chicago, because out here in california we don't live together so it doesn't really make a lot of sense.its nice though, we've taken a bath together too but it was mostly just about relaxation. I have no problem showering with the door open or anything, one time when I was sick he ran a bath for me and sat outside the door reading so he could take care of me. it was so cute. I don't really have any problems being naked in front of him...I won't be naked in front of my mom but if its just us (if her bf isnt around) i'll walk around in undies and a t-shirt or my bra or whatever.

haha tangent. Ok here's a question...what about using the restroom in front of your S.O.? What if they were in the shower and you had to pee? Thats one thing I'm REALLY shy about, I always run the water in the bathroom when I pee because I don't like people even hearing me pee! hahaha. So I wouldn't dream of peeing with the door open.
