Well I'm not going to criticize anyone who has a different religious point of view or anything. After ditching meat, dairy, animal clothing, products that involve animal cruelty, and etc, I feel like I have a cleaner soul. I feel like I'm understanding God because he's about love and the more I learn to love, the closer I feel closer to God.<br><br>
What about you?

I didn't choose veganism because of religious views, but it goes hand in hand. I am wiccan and the basis of our beliefs is to harm none. I wouldn't be upholding this if I weren't vegan.

I worship Matlock and feel closer to him now, and that he would defend me in a court case now that I'm vegan.

Oh and some of you ask why I put a disclaimer. I honeslty though I might offend someone because of different views. My main reason for veganism is for ethics. At the same time I thought that it would benefit me spiritually and it did.

I think MacGyver is more deserving of worship than Matlock. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/no.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">

It's a beautiful thing to not have my stomache as a graveyard anymore. I feel much more clearheaded and pure.<br><br>

Gandhi said something akin to this;<br><br>
"If God is truth then wherever you find truth you find God"<br><br>
Veganism allows us to be truthfull.<br><br>
Eating meat does not.

Well in a way.. I feel like a hypocrite when I eat dairy and eggs, and I don't feel like that when I eat vegan. Think it's been a month (haven't been counting) since I decided to give it another go, hoping to stick to it this time.<br>
But I'm not religious. :/

Completely agree, I finally transitioned from veggie to vegan because the teachings/readings/sermons etc that I've listened to at church felt, for me, a message to show compassion to all living souls as best you can, whether they be human or animal. So the biggest thing I could do personally is to go that final step and go vegan. I feel much more settled and peaceful with my choice. I just wish others would do the same!

High-five!<br><br>
I went vegetarian, and then vegan, after starting to explore wicca and the rede. I'm not wiccan, never have been, I've always just identified as pagan (I draw my beliefs from wicca and druidry mainly although there are some others) but I do tend to live by the rede.<br>
I did feel a lot better in terms of my path when I was vegan. Temporarily I'm back being l/o and I hate it but as soon as I'm in a position to do so I will be going back to being vegan.

I was a meat eater for 17 years and 11 months and there would come a time where I keep questioning about how animals are used for human satisfaction. I felt like going vegan was the right thing to do.

Well I believe in GOD as well, but if you believe in the bible it does talk numerous times of eating meat. Heres just one quote. Leviticus 11:1-47<br><br>
And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, These are the living things that you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth. Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat. Nevertheless, among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. ...

And this... “You shall not eat any abomination.<br><br>
These are the animals you may eat: the ox, the sheep, the goat, the deer, the gazelle, the roebuck, the wild goat, the ibex, the antelope, and the mountain sheep. Every animal that parts the hoof and has the hoof cloven in two and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat. Yet of those that chew the cud or have the hoof cloven you shall not eat these: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, are unclean for you. And the pig, because it parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, is unclean for you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch.<br><br>
“Of all that are in the waters you may eat these: whatever has fins and scales you may eat. And whatever does not have fins and scales you shall not eat; it is unclean for you.<br><br>
“You may eat all clean birds. But these are the ones that you shall not eat: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture, the kite, the falcon of any kind; every raven of any kind; the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk of any kind; the little owl and the short-eared owl, the barn owl and the tawny owl, the carrion vulture and the cormorant, the stork, the heron of any kind; the hoopoe and the bat. And all winged insects are unclean for you; they shall not be eaten. All clean winged things you may eat.<br><br>

Limes I just started 8 days ago and loving it. Listen being a meat eater or vegetarian we all will read it differently just like politics or any other thing. I dont cast judgement on meat eaters or vegetarians, I just try to be healthy and the best person I can be.

If Adam and Even can be vegans then so can everyone else. Sure God gave people a <b>choice</b> later on, in which I think it was after the flood, but that <b>doesn't mean we have to</b> use animals for anything. Animals can be friends instead of being used for food, clothing, experimentation, or so.<br><br>
If you see how animals are used, you'll learn that there's no love and compassion involved. All I see is the work of the devil. I'm not perfect but I try to avoid areas like that.
