It's been awhile I know, but I sent another e-mail to Newman's Own customer service simply asking why they've chosen to use HFCS, and this was the reply ( well, a paraphrase b/c there was some were privacy thing on the bottom so I didn't want to just cut and paste):

We regret to hear that you disapprove of the use of high fructose corn

syrup in Newman's Own products. (I never said anything about liking or disliking it, just simply that I noticed it in a product and was wondering why they use it.)

We will forward your suggestions of healthier alternatives to the appropriate department. (??? I didn't suggest anything, lol!)

Thank you for your interest in Newman's Own. We hope that you will once

again try Newman's Own products and continue to be a valued customer.

Sincerely,

Newman's Own Customer Service Team

I really didn't expect a runaround from them, I don't think I'll buy anything from them unless there isn't an alternative.
