Look what I found.

.....birth control medications can interfere with the body's ability to use riboflavin (a b vitamin).

I guess everyone needs to supplement a bit more with B vitamins if they take BC pills. Would be nice if Docs said something about this, it's kinda important.

My midwives have always told me about that. It's never been a dirty little secret to me. But you are right, a lot of docs don't say anything. I go to the midwives and nurse practitioners because they seems to have much more time and be much more patient oriented as opposed to just processing you and getting out out the door.

Sorry, I don't have the link without doing another search. I did find it in a few places so a regular google search should turn up some.

I was just looking for other soruces of B vitamins besides nuts when I stumbled on this. I wonder what other vitamins one needs extra with BC.

Isn't there someone you can report that to?

OT: Once after I had a pap when I was about 19ish, the nurse left the room and I was still on the table with nothing on below the waist, and my (EX!) doctor said "There aren't a lot of good looking women in [my city], but you're definitely one of them." I never did report it because I didn't know who to talk to, and I figured it was his word against mine. It also wasn't a physical violation, or something that made me too uncomfortable. It was just inappropriate. I did find a new doctor, though.

Now that alarms me.....when I was an om, I was taking b/c pills round the clock....as in, preventing myself from having but 3-4 periods a year. I did this for maybe 4-5 years...can't remember for sure. I haven't worried too much about vitamin b-12 because I figured I already had a good store of it from previous om life, but now I'm worried! Thanks for the warning!
