I watched this show, hosted by Matt Lauer. I have to say it freaked me out! The thought that some of these things could actually happen?! Wow!<br><br><br><br>
Asteroid hitting the earth and obliterating it<br><br>
Robots taking over the earth<br><br>
Aliens taking over the earth<br><br>
Gamma rays destroying the earth<br><br>
Bird flu<br><br>
Volcanos<br><br>
Terrorist attacks<br><br><br><br>
I'm forgetting some of the others. There were ten. Global warming scared me because they talked about how it could happen in as little as ten years. It was sad to see how the ocean's are being destroyed and how the ecological balance is being disrupted and the effect it is having on so much of the wildlife. I'm depressed. That's one we know actually <i>is</i> going to happen, geologic fact. Also, we know global warming actually <i>is</i> occuring presently, that one is no longer a "maybe."<br><br><br><br>
Yellowstone exploding anytime soon, we just don't know....<br><br><br><br>
Asteroids....well, there's near miss coming up in a few years from Apophis, and Tuotatis (sp) speeds by us pretty darn close fairly frequently.<br><br><br><br>
Bird flu...well, we're supposedly overdue for a global pandemic....

I hear a lot about the bird flu at work (Health Dept.) There was a movie that came out a few weeks ago. We actually had to have a meeting to prepare us in case we were inundated with calls after the movie aired. We weren't. I guess people took it as if it was 'just a movie'. I had heard a few months back that there were four people from one family who had died from the flu. I couldn't find any more information on it. I'm sure if it had happened that the virus mutated, we would have heard about it. I'm guessing they were all exposed to infected birds.

So far, the virus hasn't mutated to a human-to-human form yet, but it might..... Meanwhile we can all worry about it a lot....actually, few people on this continent are worrying much, as far as I can see. Avian flu is expected to advance to the West Coast of North America by the Fall. I predict this will occur around the end of October, beginning of November....<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/surprised.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":surprised">
