I couldn't tell ya. It's been almost forever since I've had anything at Del Taco (almost 20 years, to be exact...)

Sorry I can't be more help.
from vegetarian-restaurants.net:

"Del Taco (www.deltaco.com)

They do not use lard. The French fries are cooked in vegetarian oil and are not cooked in oil that meat is cooked in. The pepperjack and cheddar cheese are made with vegetable rennet. The red, green and secret sauces are vegetarian.

The shell in the tostada salad may be cooked with meat. The rice contains chicken broth. The beans may contain natural flavoring made from meat. The shakes contain milk and mono- and diglycerides from an unknown source."

Herself, that happened to me at Taco Bell too, with a chunk of chicken. I haven't gone back since, and pretty much don't trust any fast food place now... it made me assume if they're given the chance, some nitwit is *always* going to find a way to hide meat in my food.
It's not an intentional hiding though, kittay. People are such slobs that you'd be amazed at what gets mixed up in what. It's the same reason why I don't like salad bars. People who are taking their time will sling [email protected] everywhere like they're trying to shoot for distance, so you can only imagine what some paper-hat geek does when trying to build an order within 30 seconds...

Believe it or not, those orders are timed and the company tracks how long it takes to go from placed order to bagged and in the customer's hands. If employees take too long, then they get in trouble (I used to have a friend that worked for one of those places and the things he told me about.... GAAAGGG!!).
From my site http://www.sword2skyvegan.net/selections.html :

Del Taco: http://www.deltaco.com

The French fries, chips, green chili sauce & hot sauces are vegan. The shell for the tostada salad may be cooked along with meat products. All oil used at Del Taco is of vegetable origin.

Not quite as much info as what kittay gave though.
yeah... i check your site first(i've personally never seen a del taco, but i like to be helpful and look up sites when i can) most of the time erin.

but in this case i figured it didn't have as much info, so i posted another.
I was trying to find out the vegan options at Del Taco and I found that this forum is one of the only sites talking about it. I just called the Del Taco customer service and there is a discrepancy with what was posted on this thread.

The beans are vegan. So you can order a bean burrito with no cheese and it will be vegan. The veggie works burrito is vegetarian. However, if you want to order it vegan, you need to know that the rice has butter (not chicken broth). So to make it vegan you would have to order a veggie works with no rice, no cheese and no sour cream. This is all based on a conversation I had with customer service. Hope this helps!
