I can't wait to get my hands on a bag. The more I have Daiya the more I like it! First bag was mozzerella. When it was gone I thought "it's just ok. prob wouldn't buy again" I recently bought cheddar. I had some on chili and found it amazing. Today I just made a grilled daiya. That was amazing! Daiya doesn't replace the finer varities of cheese, but it is just like whats called American, or even cheap cheddars. Mozzerella I can't pin down too well, I need to try again.<br>
Pepper Jack was my favorite of regular cheeses! I will be looking for it.<br><br>
What are people paying for Daiya? My usual HFS has it at $5.69 a bag. I believe Whole Foods was cheaper.

Very cool on the pepper jack. I hope my Whole Foods has it. I pay about 4 bucks at Giant for the mozzarella. Giant doesn't seem to carry the cheddar, which I get at Whole Foods for about $4.50.

After buying it in bulk and the cost of shipping it to Australia, way too bloody much! Ha ha. But I HAVE to have it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D">

Agreed! I love it on grilled cheese, it has the same sort of smooth creamy texture and mild flavour as the grilled cheese made with Kraft singles I used to have as a kid. It's also great on nachos or pizza or anywhere else you want that taste and consistency.<br><br>
I'm wondering if eventually they'll come out with a firmer creamy cheese with a sharper flavour, something closer to the good stuff. I'm already impressed but it would be amazing to have something I like in macaroni and cheese or to have sliced on sandwiches. If they ever come up with a hard cheese good enough to serve on its own with toothpicks I will consider the battle of the vegan cheese truly won <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":p">

Agree on the grilled cheese! I use both flavors. I've also made mac and cheese with the cheddar. It comes out nice and creamy, though it doesn't reheat well, so it's best to make it in small batches.

I'm super excited. Any advice on how long it lasts before it gets moldy? I was thinking this would not happen as quick, but it did. Made my mozzarella very sad.
