I really want some Resees Puffs right now...but like almost all of Kellogs cereals contain Vitamin D3. I'm debating whether I should just eat them or not. I haven't had fruit loops in awhile either. I really just need something crunchy and sugary to munch on.

PETA's "Accidentally Vegan Page" says that Reesee's Peanut Butter Puffs are vegan, but lol they clearly say D3 on the label.

I might eat them, I may not. I don't feel like me eating it would be a "direct" source of the exploitation. It's obvious consuming raw animal products would be, but vitamin d3? Ehhh, I'm thinking it may just be like the sugar thing. It would go away once factory farming did as well.

It would be nice though if Kellogg's could use D2 in their cereals. Have many mentioned this to them? They would have a wider audience,...but then again, maybe not, because many vegans tend to be health conscious as well and some wouldn't be caught dead eating tooth decay cereal out of a box.

d3 can ONLY have an animal source... its NOT vegan. its not like sugar, its directly from an animal. its not vegan and I suggest you stay away.

PETA has a lot of stuff on their list that isnt vegan. it has laffy taffys.. which have egg whites. I've emailed and called them about it and they dont give a damn. trust no one. read for yourself EVERYTHING.

if you're a vegan, dont break your morals/ethics/etc for cereal. >.>

you can get your fix through other junk.

@veganbunny Now that I looked more into it. It seems like most D3 would be coming from some sort of fish or sheep lanolin. If it was from sheep lanolin, more like a byproduct of the industry, I wouldn't mind eating it in cereal so much, but I don't want it to be directly contributing to the death of fish o.o So ethically confused... >.>

For those that mentioned that Enviro Cereal. Yes I have tried that peanut butter crunch and I believe I thought it tasted like cardboard..the peanut butter taste wasn't very distinct. That said, their gorilla munch is good....but I REALLY miss Kix cereal
I wish the better cereals weren't so dang expensive. I go to whole foods and the Vegan cereals are like 4 bucks a box @[email protected]

Well, they are just trying to keep people's options open. It's not about avoiding every single grain of animal product, ya know? Though for some it is, and if they want to be extreme about it, that's cool.

its your business if you eat it, but just be real about it & admit that you are doing it for convenience, dont make up lame justifications for it like that one.

Lame justifications? It's definitely not as comparable to eating meat, dairy, or eggs. But, alright...I ate some fruit loops today, and yesterday. If I remember, they used to be on the accidentally vegan list. I didn't see them though last time I looked. But, fine, I ate them because I wanted too. And I'll eat some more. Nom Nom.

I just know these things because I'm a personal foodshopper... lol
Thanks for the info. I just tend to eat whatever cereal is in my house. The vegan cereals are too expensive to buy.
