I have severely cut back on dairy, I was a dairy addict!! I ate dairy proabably five times a day, now I am down to a sprinkle of cheese here and there in my salad. Anyway the other night I drank a glass of milk (it felt weird drinking it, almost like milk was not meant to be drunk out of a glass like that) anyway after I drank it I got bad heartburn and acid reflux which I have not had in months, I ended up vomiting due to the pain of the heartburn. I have read that milk causes excess acid secretion in the stomach I am wondering if the milk caused me to become sick. This has never happened to me before and I am very interested. Has anyone else experienced this? Can your body become intolerant of large amounts of dairy?

Yes. A person can develop milk intolerancies seemingly overnight ranging from mild to quite severe. Especially if that person has been significantly reducing the amount of milk/dairy they eat and then they take in an amount that the body will not handle. At that point, the body does to that dairy what it does to anything else it sees that isn't supposed to be there - it gets rid of it in the quickest way possible.

If you haven't explored the plant milks out there, I certainly encourage you to do so as quickly as you're able to. They're much healthier than their animal-based counterparts and they're far less likely to cause a reaction than animal milks will.

Exactly.

(This reminds me of the time I told an omni that we should have dairy farms where we keep women pregnant constantly and milk them)

To me rice milk tastes just like skim milk, you may want to give it a try. I've never cared much for soy milk, it has too much of a nutty flavor for me. Almond milk is also really good, especially the chocolate :yum:!!!
