i just bought some kiss my face lavender/shea butter lotion, it's so nice! I love it! I also bought some soap by Brookside, (avocado and calendula) that makes my skin SO soft! I didn't even have to put lotion on my legs after using it and that is simply amazing considering i live in the middle of the desert! Anyhow they have a website at http://www.brooksidesoap.com

does anyone know anything about DHC products btw? are they cruelty free?

Hi Portulaca!

Arbonne is available through independent consultants (similar to Mary Kay). I loved the product so much that I became an Arbonne independent consultant! If you're interested, you can send me a PM with your address and I can send you a catalog in the mail, or you can go to www.arbonne.com to view the catalog. You have to use a consultant ID# to order online, and the shipping will cost you more than if you were to order directly through me, but if you want to order something online, I can PM you my ID#.

Burt's Bee's tests on animals?? Well damn I guess I need to read the labels better!! Good because I didn't like most of their new makeup line anyways. The only thing I liked was the lipstick because it has mint in it and makes my lips tingle! I'm going to check out your Arbonne stuff Sally.. I've never heard of that brand before.

Hi Dirt Diva!

If you like the mint in Burt's bees, then you will love Arbonne's lip balm because it has mint in it, and it's vegan!

Burt's Bees does not test on animals, but their products do contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk, and carmine.

Just so you are aware.

Does Arbonne test on animals? I looked at their website and I didn't find any referrence to not testing on animals. That worries me a little. Usually if a company doesn't test on animals they use it as a selling point if you will.

MsRuthie, I just checked out the website and it does say, "Never tested on animals.

I just got some Kiss My Face products, and they say, "This product was created without animal ingredients, artificial colors, unnecessary chemicals or animal testing." "Unnecessary"? What do they mean by that? So, are they saying that some animal testing is necessary? If it was created without animal testing, then it should say, "This product was created without animal ingredients, artificial colors, chemicals or animal testing."

Sally, I'm going to PM you with my address. I'm looking forward to getting the catalog.

Uh, nevermind about what I said about Kiss My Face in the above post. A friend was over last night and explained it to me. I think they should change the sentence for dummies like me! A comma between "chemicals", and "or" would have been good. That way it would read, "This product was created without animal ingredients, artificial colors, unnecessary chemicals, or animal testing". Or, they could just switch places of "unnecessary chemicals" and "animal testing".

Because of this thread, I bought the Kiss My Face toothpaste for the first time. In the past, I had always used Tom's of Maine. I love this new toothpaste! No more Tom's of Maine.

I just hope they didn't do any unnecessary animal testing with the toothpaste.

Portulaca, I was just about to post a reply defending KMF! That is a strange way to word that sentence. They should word it differently. Obviously it's very confusing and you're probably not the first person to be baffled by it!

KMF has awesome toothpaste! I have been using it for about a year and I love it so much. I think I would cry if they ever stopped making it. I use the whitening one.

I am sending out your Arbonne catalog today Thanks for asking. Arbonne definitley does NOT test on animals. If they did, there's no way I'd ever become a consultant for them. They are 100% cruelty free.

Hi Melina,

Arbonne has some excellent moisturizers. There are probably some excellent ones at the HFS too, but I'm most familiar with Arbonne.

Here are the best choices for moisturizing your dry skin for daytime use (in order from least expensive to more expensive):

Moisture cream for normal to dry

Rejuvinating Cream

Bio-Hydria Alpha Complex Moisture for day SPF 8

NutriminCRE9 REality SPF 8 Day Creme

Prices range from $19 to $45

If you want more info, just let me know. I can help you determine the best product for your skin type and budget.

MelinaM - the best moisturizer I have ever found is plain old grapeseed oil. Just take a little into your hand, mix with a little water (or just wet your hands before you put the grapeseed oil on), rub it and apply to your face. Wipe off any that doesn't sink in.

I am almost 41 and I look a lot younger. I use grapeseed oil in the shower, after I am done but before I dry off, and Dr. Brennor's mint soap. Skin care doesn't have to be fancy OR expensive.

Grapeseed oil is somewhat astringent also, so it is very good for your skin.

Try it. It's available in stores in the massage oil area, or in the cooking oil area.

Try to find expeller pressed grapeseed oil, btw. If you can't find that, almond oil or apricot oil are also very good, just a little more expensive.
