Sorry guys/girls if I am posting in the wrong thread. However, I was wondering if anyone has experienced stomach problems after becoming vegetarian. I don't know if this is a fluke thing but, I haven't eaten any meat in 4 weeks. Since that time I have developed bad stomach aches after eating. It does not happen every time after I eat only sometimes. I started to think I may have food allergies that I am unaware of (I am going to see a new doctor next month so I am going to ask to be tested) but, then I read not to mix certain foods since they don't digest the same way. For example, yesterday for lunch I had 2 slices of veggie pizza and a organic salad with italian dressing. I ate the pizza then the salad, would that make a difference? Does anyone have any advice or on this matter?

Its common to have digestive issues pop up along with diet changes, your body was used to a certain kind of food and now it has to adjust to different foods.

First of all be sure you are drinking enough water every day, vegetarian foods tend to be higher in fiber and we need to be hydrated in order to comfortably digest fiber. High fiber diets are healthy

You may have an intolerance or allergy, an easy way to get more clues is to keep a food journal. write down what you ate and how you felt after/during, after a few days of this you may be able to see if a certain food is causing troubles. also can do an elimination diet, where you don't eat foods like dairy, soy or wheat and see if not eating them eases the trouble and re-introducing them brings it back.
