The credit for this information goes to Michael Greger M.D. He must have sifted through lots of information to find this and did a lot of reading just on these that are mentioned from PubMed, PubMed Central and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. It gives you the actual numbers of bad cholesterol that you need to not get heart attacks and strokes and explains that the only way to get these levels is with a vegan diet according to studies done.

None of these sources have the proof. So you just have to put them together. It also mentions other things that affect the chances of getting a heart attack or stroke like smoking, lack of exercise, stress, being overweight, diabetes, high blood pressure and more.
