I have rabbit and human companionship at home.

The rabbit is shelter-rescued. The humans here are not shelter-rescued.

I counted my dog, cuz although she lives with my parents, like a mile and a half away, she's still my dog. In my apartment, though, there's me, and 3 cats & thats it.

3 cats, 1 dog. All rescues. The humans aren't rescued, though they sometimes act like it.

I had 4 rats at one time, but they just don't live long enough.

I would vote alone, but not with *sigh* there.

I am perfectly happy having quarters all to myself for now.

I go out and have companionship time with nature every day. I see deer out my window every so often, and other wildlife, as the treeline to the woods is about 50 yards away. I have companionship with God many times throughout the day. Living by myself has been a blessing for this short time. There will be many years to live with my wife and kids or more roommates - but for now, this is nice.

A dog, four chickens, and a parrot. We used to have a cat, and I have a feeling I'll adopt a new cat when I move out.

I intentionally buried human in there. I started this poll because of something Diana said in another thread about her not wanting to think of owning her cat.

Quote:

Long enough to do what? Or do you mean how they might live longer in the wild and end up dying prematurely in captivity? My friend had a couple of rats (at different times) and was just heartbroken when they died. I think they both died of cancer.

Quote:

I forgot to put God on the list. Tell me though, how do you escape companionship with God? Doesn't the Holy Spirit live within you; isn't God always with you?

They have a pretty short life span. I got very attached to them just as soon as I rescued them. Two of them did have tumors and they got their operations and healed up fine. Only one of them died of "old age", though. Before them, all I'd ever had were cats and dogs, so I was used to having lots and lots of years with the animal. It goes by pretty fast with the rats.

Ok, yeah, that makes sense. I have no idea how old rats are even supposed to live when all goes well.

I voted for cat, chicken, dog, rabbit and other. I have one cat, one dog, one rabbit, four chickens, seven ducks and three parakeets. Oh...and four humans but they don't provide nearly as much companionship and my non-human animals.

I am owned by two cats.

But what makes you think that the "humans" in the poll would be domesticated, anyway?
