I'm just wondering what everyone's views are on companion animals. Against, for, stuck in between?

I love my animals. HOWEVER, if suddenly shelters weren't necessary, and we stopped breeding them, I'd be thrilled.

I support keeping companion animals and continueing to breed species which are not over-populated.

All domestic dog breeds are the same species. Same with cat breeds. What are you referring to? All dogs and cats are overpopulated - about 8 million of them are killed in shelters each year.
