My husband and I just moved to a new city 2 years ago. We were both shocked and really happy when we found out that the city we moved to has a composting program. We have green boxes that we can put all of our food scraps, hair, paper towels, tea bags, coffee grinds and basically anything organic in it. It's a great program that I am happy to be apart of. The only part that I have a problem with is the people in my townhouse complex that don't know what qualifies as organic. I'm constantly picking out plastic bags, cans, juice boxes etc from the bins. We also have the same problem with our recycling bins but that's a whole other topic. =P
Do any of you have compost pick up in your communities? If so what do you think are the positives and negatives of such a program?
