Has anybody [here] ever suffered from this? Unfortunately, I feel as if I currently am. What it comes down to is that I have essentially no motivation to do homework, extracurricular activities, or really even be in school. It's not so fun, seeing that I'm a junior in my second semester of college and have made it this far. Anybody have any tips or helpful advice?

I too am a Junior, and feel this way a lot. I love my major and what I do but I am so stressed, feeling so empty like nothing I do is important, and eating very badly. I think it's a mix of being away from everyone I love and the pressure college puts on it's students. I know it isn't for everyone but I've been starting my day with Yoga and it helps a bit. I also try to get really psyched about what I'm doing in my major classes to make it less stressful. I need to remind myself that it's something I picked and enjoy and doesn't HAVE to be stressful. As far as extra curics, don't feel you have to do them, they aren't for everyone, and maybe they are for you but just not now. Good luck and I hope things are less blah for you, i can really relate

Hi,

Why don't you discuss this with someone close to you and get some suggestions? Positive thoughts manifestation will help you a bit. Be positive about your studies and start enjoying it instead of following a routine. Consult a counselor who can help you get rid of your mental blocks. Mediation and Yoga are indeed very good for keeping your mind & body fresh and relaxed.

All the best.

Are you interested in the subject you're studying?

I have a broad array of interests. I do have interests in both the subjects I'm studying, but it seems that I'm the type of person that has a little bit of interest in everything, but not a deep interest in hardly anything. I do find social work interesting, but economics is striking me more as something nice to understand, but a bit useless for someone that doesn't plan on going into the financial or business field.

YES! I think it's normal, especially during your junior year. I changed my major 4 times before I found something that didn't make me dread waking up to go to school every day. Even so, I was never EXCITED to go because a lot of it felt like a gigantic waste of time and money. Hang in there.

I think it's normal, and you may have to find something you enjoy more than just a little (of everything).

I had majored in Fine Arts and graduated, then went back to study Philosophy, and now am studying Health Sciences. It sucks in the way that all my friends are now done with school and starting families, but they don't concern me, what makes me happy is studying something I'm engaged in. Hopefully I go the long haul this time and can get a Masters or PhD/a career I actually enjoy. ><

Good luck, Green_Gent!
