Cold Coffee Delight
Category: Beverages/Smoothies
Suitable for a: vegan diet
Ingredients:
------------------------------------------------------
Coffee
Vanilla Soymilk
Chocolate Soymilk
Sugar
Dark Chocolate
Instructions:
------------------------------------------------------
-Make some hot coffee and pour it into a cup until it is about 2/3 full.
-Add a piece (about 15 grams) of dark chocolate, stir it around, and let it melt in the coffee. The coffee must be very hot or the chocolate may not melt completely and there will be chocolate specks in the frozen smoothie!
-Add about 5 teaspoons of sugar.
-Add vanilla and/or chocolate soymilk until the cup is full.
-Place it in the freezer. When it is partly frozen break it up and stir it so that it is slushy. If it freezes too hard and icy, try adding more sugar so that it is more slushy.
Additional comments:
------------------------------------------------------
It may not work well and sound unconventional, since I thought of this when I added vanilla soymilk to coffee and thought, "This tastes pretty good. What if I add chocolate and freeze it?" You should have a nice coffee flavored slurpee with a touch of vanilla and chocolate. It is a nice treat for a warm sunny afternoon!
