Does anyone know why Clif Bars "may contain traces of dairy"? I do not necessarily care if my food has traces of dairy. For example, if my food is cooked in a pot that was used to cook dairy. I do care if my food is made using dairy. I am afraid that Clif Bar uses dairy to make its products but then washes it off or something.

it just means that they don't use a dedicated dairy-free facility. very few products out there are made on equipment that isn't ever also used to produce something that contains dairy or other animal products. they do clean the equipment and everything, and they don't use dairy in the ingredients for clif bars, but they include the "may contain traces..." on the label as a warning for people with severe allergies...as a cover-yer-butt just in case kind of thing. hope that helps you feel better about it!
