Anyone know if they're vegan?? Ralphs had them on sale for only $0.89 each, normally they're $1.39 so I stocked up on them... BIG TIME.

Here's a link to their site showing ingredients, http://www.clifbar.com/eat/eat.cfm?location=bar&id=68

from what I can tell, they look okay. Only thing i'm not sure about is the "Malt Extract". I ended up buying 5 different flavors... Carrot Cake, Black Cherry Almond, Cookies n Cream, Lemon Poopyseed, and the Chocolate fudge one.

These are one of the only few bar's out there i've seen that look vegan... everything else has Milk and Whey Protein thrown in.

Cool...a Clif Bar's thread....I remember a conversation on Clif Bars and Luna Bars in another thread that had me rollin' in the floor laughing so hard I had to go to the hospital to get stitched up..well, maybe not that far but be forwarned, things may get a little comical (I can only hope). Anyhow yes, I believe they are vegan although I have no link for you that proves my statement

It was silly. There was a friendly debate that just about drove Soilman over the edge on whether Clif Bars and Luna Bars are the same thing. If I find it I'll link it. For some reason it really tickled my funny bone though.

Yes, vegan. And try the carrot cake flavor first.
It's surprisingly very carrot cakey.
Yes, but they seem too sweet to me. I used to really like them, but I kinda got sugared out. Note to those not in the know: They don't use refined sugar.

I love clif and luna bars, but they are a rare treat because they are so expensive. Krogers will occasionally have them for $.99 and I try to stock up when they do. I too was wondering if they were vegan as I have seen them mentioned several times on this board. Thanks for the info.

I love Luna bars!! I finally broke down and splurged last night and bought four of them. They will be reserved as special treats.
I am going to try and sweet talk my mom into buying me a box the next time she goes to Sams.

I guess not liking coconut does it for me there. I don't think they taste like cookies at all, but I guess that depends on what kind of cookies you're used to eating, right?

My favorite Luna flavors are:

Lemon Zest

Key Lime

Chocolate Peppermint Stick

Clif Bar:

Chocolate Mint Ice, or something like that.

I'm not sure why you would want to eat a ClifBar. In my opinion, they are filled with crap (but they are, however less worse than PowerBar).

All those added vitamins go right through your body, on their way out, leaching some others from you, not to mention you have no idea how or where they came from. Also, anytime the "decaffeinate" something, they are processing it big time, usually with nasty cancer causing agents.

If you really want a good bar, I would suggest one of the following two:

ReBar (an awesome organic, whold foods bar)

http://www.healthcocanada.com

Organic Vegan Food Bar (live food bar, excellent, but expensive)

http://www.organicfoodbar.com

Hope that helps,

Gabriel

Yummy. I need to start buying these again. They make a perfect sub for meals at school and are fast and easy. They are only .99 at trader joes.
