Have you tried posting some information at the local universities? I'd bet you could get some volunteers.

ok but why are performing animals bad? i mean i went to the circus when i was younger and you know kids get to see animals they don't get to see very often except on t.v.

Wild animals are just that, wild and therefore shouldnt even be there yet alone cruelly trained and kept in crates.

ok yeah i remember hearing about cruelty in circuses but their are also circuses where the trainers love the animals they train and don't use any negative reinforcement, i mean right aren't their? how does someone go about finding if their going to a good or bad circus?

The animals are usually kept in appalling conditions and treated very badly. The nature of circuses is that the animals are kept in small containers and don't often get the basic requirements they need. That's why, IMO, circuses are bad.

Plus, animals should not be used for entertainment, in my opinion.

Take a look at Animal Defenders International

http://www.ad-international.org/anim...?id=262&ssi=10

Or do an internet search for CAPS

Circuses seem fun when you are small and they can be a way for kids to see animals, but at the end of the day the animals are in an unnatural environment doing (or being forced to do) unnatural things. It's better for kids to see animals in the wild.

P.S. If you want a to be sure of a non-cruelty circus, go to one that doesn't use animals at all, like Cirque de Soleil.

I think it's so much interesting to see human feats by skilled performers (although in some circuses the human workers may not be treat that well either!) than to see unhappy animals going through the motions.

I really like circus (when it's done well) - the only animal circus I've been to is one that had a horse but it looked slightly crazy...it took away any excitement at seeing it perform.

It's difficult as well because many circus families rely on animals for their livelihood...I enjoyed the book 'Josser' by Nell Stroud about her experiences living in the circus world but she was in favout of horses being used and she didn't think it would change.

I'm definitely standing up for the llamas though - one has to defend one's kin!!!

If kids want to see animals they should really be concerned about their welfare...I'm not sure about zoos either so I'm not sure what the solution is!

We have done four demos in two weeks and removed at least 15 posters advertising them. Leafletted the two towns so far.

The owner physically assaulted a friend of mine, the cops are slow to charge him (surprise, surprise!!).

We have been cursed by a Gypsy Rose Boswell!! LOl..(for removing the posters).

Yesterday I picked up a load of half price tickets for the circus from a garage.(gas station).Destroyed them.

There has been lots of letters against the circus in the local paper as well as some for it!.
