I have heard some things recently about "good" cholesterol(LDL?), and also about how it can be detrimental to have too little cholesterol in one's body. As I understand, chooesterol is only produced by animals. So, how do Vegans get enough "ggod" cholesterol? Is it actually bad too have none, or is that the typical BS that one hears from people trying to "debunk" veg*nism?

Your body makes cholesterol from the foods you eat (e.g., vegetable oils). So you don't need to eat cholesterol, which I believe comes solely from animals.

It all depends on what those items are cooked in and how they are prepared, VeggieMonster. Some of those veggies are in a cheese sauce, and I'd wager the others are cooked with butter or even meat broth.

it looks like the foods with cholesterol on that list are ones that have cheese or butter, most likely. and yes, ONLY animal products have cholesterol, it's a tell-tale way of seeing if a product is vegan or not.

FYI: the last line of this page says, "There is no cholesterol in nuts, since they are a plant product, and cholesterol is found only in animal products." just in case you wanted some proof
