I have trying to become partly vegan, (partly because I can't live without a burger or bacon once a month so that is how I got around it to eat a burger once a month) but I alwayse loved chocolate as a child and I am wondering if chocolate is vegan?

It shouldn't matter if chocolate is vegan if you're eating burgers, should it?

But in any case, chocolate bars aren't going to be vegan (some are, but not the mainstream ones). If you are serious about wanting a vegan chocolate, health/organic stores should have them and online raw/vegan sellers. Raw cacao, of course, is going to be vegan... so you can always try making your own too.

...ignoring the op...

There are many chocolates that are vegan! I've had the best milk chocolate made with rice milk. Dark chocolates are often vegan-well most if you don't worry about processed sugar. Many are completely vegan including Trader Joes. They'll usually say "evaporated cane juice. My pick are Endangered Species. With cocoa nibs, espresso, most if not al plain dark-and mint.
I look for fair trade, organic more than the sugar, but they usually go hand in hand.

I know you're banned, RonBrgndy, but if you're still reading and are serious about going vegan or vegetarian, then go to your local Wal-Mart or health food store and check out some of the fake meat options they have. Wal-Mart carries Morningstar Farms and Boca products. Not all are vegan, but some are, so read labels. If you have a Whole Foods near you, they should have lots and lots of nice vegan and vegetarian options for you, so you can get the taste of the animal products you love without eating animals.

You can also find fake meat recipes online. Try vegweb.com.
