Wouldn't that be great? Truthfully, though I found some aspects of the article heartbreaking, I felt encouraged. I think that one day this will be a thing of the past. It looks as if the tide may be slowly turning.

There exist many caring activists in China who are risking their safety to rescue dogs, cats, and many other animals. That's why I dislike blanket statements against an entire country, which you see alot, especially in regards to China.

Wow. I do hope the activists are vegan.
The very hypocrisy of pet lovers were my main push to become vegan myself. Condemning abuse of dogs and cats while eating animals that endured similair treatment as livestock was more black humor than I could stand.
The obvious fact of poverty also speaks volumes, as the one person asks for donations go to the poor. Anyone in animal rescue knows the problem with trying to spread little money to save animals near death, and get others enough care to adopt out.
It must sound as cruel to many in the Chinese culture to fix them and feed them.
America esp. seems to thrive on Chinas poor, and ensuring they stay that way.

I'll never understand the mentality of how one animal = not food and another = food even though I had that mentality years ago....just seems foreign to me now.

The story is inspiring. It's so good to read about people taking action regardless of if they are vegan or not.

The pictures on the other hand made me cry and my dogs immediately came over to try and comfort me, which just made me cry harder. I can't imagine my dogs in that truck. I'll never understand why our species can be so cruel.

The whole idea that dogs are food in other countries is the reason I went vegetarian in the first place. I saw some undercover videos that were very upsetting. Then I started thinking about all the animals I ate on a regular basis. I felt like such a hypocrite...

The fact that they had problems taking care of the dogs afterwards tells me the dog activists are small in number. It doesn't leave me a reason to be optimistic. Thanks for posting.
