I'm going to try castor oil, to see if it will help to improve my skin. I will be using the oil both internally and externally.

Has anybody ever used castor oil for a specific skin condition with positive effects?

Any good, bad or indifferent comments welcome.

I would think argan and coconut (unfiltered/raw/cold-pressed) would be better, as well as eating a high percentage of raw (fruits and vegetables) as opposed to cooked.

What sort of complaints?

Castor oil can actually be very drying. Try jojoba. Its the oil that is most similar to your own skin oils. Almond, sesame, coconut, and olive can also be good. Different people have different affinities for these various oils, so give them all a try. I find almond works best for me.

I've read before that castor oil is GREAT for removing and blackheads, but I can't vouch for that because I'm too lazy to try it. Olive oil though? Totally rocks.

Isn't castor oil often used to help induce labor? I've heard it causing terrible stomach cramps and unstoppable diarrhea. I would advise against internal use, but if you want a colon cleanse at the same time...

I used a mixture of castor oil and olive oil for the oil cleansing method for my face. It worked well, but not way better than any facial cleanser i've used so i went back to my old routine after a while. We also sometimes use castor oil to dry up growths on the horses' skin.

Well, only two days taking castor oil, and no stomach cramps and certainly no diarrhea to report of. *PHEW*

@penny79 Thanks for suggesting argan. I hadn't heard of it, and had to google it. Regarding fruit and vegetables, i always eat all of them raw.

@SomebodyElse I have already tried jojoba oil and it had no effect at all.
