To answer your question from the other thread, the rehearsals were for my tap dancing show. Today was the second performance -- it went well! My hair is still plastered from the hairspray, but I've managed to wash off the inch-deep make-up at this point.

My hamstering today: Warming up for the show, the show itself, ab & butt routine, upper body weights.

15 minute brisk walk + 30 minute moderate paced walk.

My mother called me today and she asked what size I am now - she hasn't seen me in 5 years. I told her a large, which I've been the last 2x she's seen me.

"Oh," she says, "You've put on weight."

"Mom, I've been this size since I was 20."

"No you weren't. You were never big enough to be a large."

"Mom! I was a large the last 2x I was home."

"Were you? Well, you need to look after yourself so you don't get fat like everyone else."

Thanks mom. Appreciate the concern. So I kinda told her that I'm quite active and that I lift weights and jog. *cough*

Ok, I technically jog. 40 sec intervals, true, but I jog nonetheless.

That isn't a lie, right?

5 mile run. Legs day. Stretching.

Got to exercise my patience and self-restraint a lot, too, having the dreaded phone duty today, in which I used every last bit of willpower to not give all the immature moron callers (most of whom were probably half again to twice my age) the screaming-out they so richly deserved.

Yikes.. that's a lovely thing for your mom to say! And no, it's not a lie. You do jog. It's none of her business that you're just getting into it.

Well the "Wide World of Sports" is really going to be upset that they missed me my 1st time on roller blades yesterday evening!!! If someone caught it on home video...I'm going to share the wealth with the rest of the hamsters here!!!! Anyways, I left the Store with my new roller blades, knee and elbow pads and yes a helmet. I went to the back of the Kroger store figuring not many people would see me which was true. The only time that anyone comes out the back door or a vehicle came around is when I did the splits or ended up on my knees trying to stop.

I feel it was a pretty descent workout cause I got a lot of up and down exercising.

Way back when...there was 3 health fanatics called Slynny, Buddadragon and Tweety. As the story goes...these three started a thread about working out, eating healthy etc. One day out of no where a lot of us notice that a lot of people were using treadmills at that time and buddadragon was in the process of buying one. Someone (I can't remember who) mentioned feeling like a hamster running on a treadmill but going no where. Wha La The hamsters are born!!! Slynny created a logo for us and it happens to be her Avatar. Did I sum up the story pretty well Slynny?

hey. I've been working out, don't worry! I've just been forgetful...I keep forgetting to tell everyone here. But, anyway...

friday I worked out. I started to do a leg workout, but during my squats I noticed a sharp pain in my left quadricep. not the kind that comes with working out, but one that is not supposed to be there. So I discontinued my leg workout and did shoulders and triceps. Also, before my weight workout, I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 min. on the treadmill. i didn't notice a pain. Weird.

Yesterday, while i didn't do a formal official workout, i was active. I swept the driveway, which was hard x 10. then later that night i went swimming. Not really lap swimming, but wrestling in the pool swimming. that seems like a good enough workout to me.

Now that the dust has settled from moving, I do need to try and get back to some sort of workout routine. TOday I am going to swim in my complex's pool and if it cools off a bit, I may take my bike out for a little ride tonight. Tomorrow, hopefully I will wander over to the gym and start working out again. Plus I am STILL unpacking boxes and carrying them to the dumpster. It just doesn't seem to end.

Since today is my hamster-free day, I did some ab work and nothing more.

Oh, and rainbowmoon, I said my 80-minute run was bad because I have OCD and feel anything less than 2 - 2.5 hours is pointless. Yeah, it's insane. Ha.

entresol- Are you getting any counseling for this? In truth, anything over 1.5 hours is pointless, as your body starts feeding off muscle at that point.

Hiya Hamsters,

Went for my walk...I'd say 4 or 5 miles...no bike ride.

Tomorrow I am starting a new sit up routine! and darn it this time I'm going to keep it up! Sit ups first thing every morning as many as I can do.

entresol, we prefer to call them rest days...no day should ever be Hamster free! but rest days are just fine!

Yes Kathym, that pretty well sums it up except the logo was created by a friend of budda's...budda just lets me use it for my avatar nice guy that he is.

sandiemac, of course you can! Welcome to the Hamsters!

Hi corri! Great Hamsterin' as usual!

Hi Hamsters

Yesterday taught a Pilates class and sweated my butt off. I am going to start teaching advanced Pilates (still a matt class, but only adding a few extra hard exercises) in about 2 weeks.

Today, my wonderful husband (who will do anything so we can spend some time together) went on a 17 1/2 mile ride with me. And yes, Slynny - it was like drinking the air today! I was sweating in places I forgot I owned!!!!! But - again, the ride was completely awesome! This time the ride was to a touristy area of the Chesapeake Bay, but beautiful all the same.

I have a tough running and teaching aerobics week ahead of me.

Welcome Michael! This has to be the most awesome thread on the web! You will really enjoy it!

Kristadb..........are you sure we don't have the same mother? I am a medium/large........because I have the shoulders of a football player! I simply tell my mother that I may not be a petite little thing - but I can run circles around all those skinny-fat girls! You know the ones...........the ones my mother points out and says "see there - she's quite thin.......and the next time I see the girl, she is in one of my classes panting like she is pushing a car up a hill.......and it's only the warm up"! kristadb.......hang in there - you're doing more than most people!

Remember hamsters.......if it wasn't hard.....everyone would be doing it!

Have an awesome week!
