Keep on truckin'. Or running. Or jogging. Or hula-hooping. Or whatever you do.

Thanks for starting this thread Amy.

I've been majoryly stressed at work. Some people do more exercise when they are stressed. Me, I can't concentrate on a run when I'm stressed. I haven't ran all week.

Tomorrow will only be 8 miles even. My shortest long run in forever.

40 minutes on the eliptical trainer at the gym. I will probably walk the dog tonight. He'll be sad if I don't. And that's the best motivation - his mopey little expectant face.

I've been out running every day. I'm still working my way up to HardCore Awesomeness, a minute at a time...

Currently I'm doing 22 minutes a day. When I started it was 15, so this is cool. I figure when I hit 30 or 40, I'll stop increasing time and just work on speed. Yeah.

^^^Gnarly, you are doing so great!

Slow and steady here. Actually, I'm taking today off due to a headcold, but it won't keep me home for long.

I can't wait to get back to working out regularly... My entire summer was (regrettably) devoted to working, and the gym hours didn't cooperate with my work schedule. Plus, I nearly exhausted myself from working too much, which meant exercise was the last thing I wanted to do when I had the day off, anyway.

Now that I'm back in school, I'm only working 8 hours a week. I'm so happy to have the free time to work out. I will be on a normal exercise schedule as soon as I get over this cold virus thing, and I'll be back to share!

Get better soon, Poppy.

Good luck on starting to run again, Captain. Hope your stress goes away soon.

CoffeeDolling, I use the elliptical for cardio, too! Do you have a certain routine for levels of intensity?

Gnarly, good luck on your journey to HardCore Awesomeness.

Do you think it's unethical to take a whey-based protein supplement after working out? I am an avid lifter, (5 days/week) and Iknow that it's a good idea to take in extra protein. I've been using whey...Never really used soy. Has anyone here used soy?

Well, how do you feel about the dairy industry? Are you vegan? I can't speak for your own ethics.

I drink Arbonne soy protein shakes and add the powder to my smoothies sometimes. I'm vegan, so I wouldn't use whey protein powder. If you're interested in the stuff I use, PM me! I'm an Arbonne Consultant.

Yes, I would say it depends on your dietary habits. I add whey protien to my smoothies in the morning but I haven't completely cut dairy out of my diet yet.

So, how is everyone doing?

I started doing yoga every day again. And I ordered some workout DVDs that should be delivered soon. I noticed I'm gaining a lot of energy from the yoga, which is awesome.

I started eating healthier this week, too. I still have a bag of chips in the cabinet, but I stopped eating white bread and sugary snacks (for the most part). I stocked up on more veggies than I normally do when I went to the grocery store last night, and I decided I'm going to have a green smoothie every day.

Being in the health business is not easy. I am studying to be a personal trainer (been training for a long time but never got certified) and the nutritional aspect is horrible for me! Being vegan, I don't agree with what they want me to tell my clients. Do I secretly tell people what I think when I begin training??!! I am still up in the air about egg whites too *confused* I have been vegan for almost a year and a half and eating an egg sounds repulsive *yuck*

I think it went through because the message was there. I dumped my inbox so it is clear now -- had messages from a few years ago on there still.

September is over. Where did it go?

Please continue your Hamster posting in this thread: http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/s...ad.php?t=61368

I've decided to make the new thread not just for October, but also for November and December 2006. It makes more sense to me to create a new thread quarterly instead of every month, since each month can go by pretty quickly. Let me know how this works for you Hamsters. If it's agreeable to you all, we'll keep it this way next year. If not, we'll go back to individual months.

Have fun and get sweaty!
