Wow, CaptainSwab, great bike ride!

MsKedi, I have a lot of trouble with one of my hips. I'm going to start doing some stregthening and stretching exercises for it and see if that helps. I'll PM you the exercises in case you want to try them too.

Slynny, I came across a good suggestion for your injury while flipping through another running book. Have you tried wrapping your calf? It says for a calf strain, you can wrap the calf with a 4 inch elastic bandage - tight enough for relief, but not too tight. It says to wear the bandage all day and during running for a couple of days. Also to stretch 5-10 times a day, wear lifts, and avoid walking barefoot.

I wanted to mention that I did get my three days of jogging in last week...and that on Friday I ran about two miles, which I don't think I've done since fall. With two weeks of regular exercise, I'm already seeing the results in my body....YEAAAAAAA!

I hope everyone here has a GREAT week of moving!

Spent the weekend camping.....a billion and a half volleyball games, 5 games of Ultimate Frisbee, biking to and from the campsite to the various games, and walking to and from the various games.

Oh yes, a shaving cream fight and a swim in the lake to rinse off...

heh, i do them in about 15 minutes, i guess? i dunno, i've never actually timed them. but i think that's about right.

i do 'free' ones and i use that ab roller whatever it's called. it's better for your back and i get more out of it then the free ones - cause you're forced not to cheat, heh.

i do a bunch of variations of crunches - normal, side, um, well, yeah,i dont know the 'real' terms for them.

but they feel soooo good! but trust me, by 1000 i'm glad they are over, heh.

at least i know i do them 'right.' when i frist started doing them in high school i was way off and not getting any benefits. i had to have a personal trainer point out the correct way.

so now i got it down

Mskedi- I have done lots of different kinds of dance in my life (from ballroom to latin to modern to tap!) but right now I am all wrapped up in swing dancing. This style is called the Lindy Hop (Jitterbug). It is WAY fun and actually great exercise.

That's cool snowtwister. I'd like to volunteer at something like that. I think it would be neat to volunteer at a marathon or an ultra race especially since I doubt if I'll ever run one myself.

Sunday:

7 miles bike

1.5 mile walk

1.5 miles run

Wow I've been so bad. Tomorrow I better get down on it.

Funkified- Damn girl, I'm jealous! I wish I could do 1000 crunches! The most I can do now is 500, when pushed, but I don't have the patience. I'm gettin there.

2.7 mile run.

This was suppoesed to be a 6-7 mile run. Ended up walking the entire route back. Yes I am pissed at myself. Luckily Dave was with me and talked some sense into me. I guess I shouldn't have biked that 20 miles the day before my long run. What was I thinking? I have to remember that you build up to these things. You just don't get up and do them.

Yep, we have to listen to our bodies sometimes. I went out for another 2 miles walking and I'm sorry I did. My feet hurt so bad... Give yourself credit for the 2.7 CaptainSwab! It's not easy doing that. And I'm sure you'll be doing a 6 mile run another day when your body is ready for it.

Sigh. I know sky. I am trying to talk some sense into myself. You are right 2.7 is better than nothing. Sometimes its so easy to get caught up into what we think we should be doing and push it a little too far.

I guess both you and I should be taking it easy tomorrow.
