These are the ones made with a dedicated machine, sandwich maker-like, with holes. You can also make donuts or cupcakes if your machine does these...or you can use this recipe for a conventional oven cake...I do it sometimes, only the machine system makes crusty pieces on the outside and the oven ones are fluffier.

In a medium bowl, mix 1/2 cup vegetable milk, any kind, 1/4 cup water, 4-6 tablespoons of sugar and any flavour you desire: cinnamon, vanilla, lemon rind...Beat well, preferably using a wire whisk.

Then add self-rising flour mixing in circular movements with a wooden spoon. When you still have a quite watery batter, you can add things like dark chocolate chips, desiccated coconut, fine grind nuts...and if you want cocoa pop cakes you can add 2-3 tablespoons pure unsweetened cocoa.

Keep adding flour till you have a thicker batter, but still not a dough...It must be almost pourable, so when you pour it into the machine holes you will need to use a finger or another spoon for help. Anyway sometimes I make it more watery and I have not bad results.

Follow the machine instructions and, once done, if you want you can cover them with melted chocolate and stick something to them while
they are still wet.
