I really dig the taste of butter on certain cooked veggies, is there a good substitute out there?<br><br><br><br>
This forum has been very helpful, I'm so happy I stumbled upon it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/grin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":D"><br><br>
Thanks everyone.

Another vote for Earth Balance. It is quite buttery tasting.

I agree with karenlovessnow - Earth Balance is perfect. Not only is it so similar to butter it's scary, it's even non-hydrogenated so it's healthy too.<br><br><br><br>
I just use it on bread, though; I dunno how well it'd work on veggies. I'm sure it'd be great.

Organic Earth Balance is my fav <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> I never ever use margarine because of the trans fat. I either use EB or real butter <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br><br><br><br><a href="http://www.earthbalance.net/product.html" target="_blank">http://www.earthbalance.net/product.html</a><br><br><br><br>
The whipped is sooooooooo good! *drools* I have my family hooked too! I found it at Trader Joe's for $2.99!

I'm all about the Earth Balance. I buy whipped cause it's spreadable out of the fridge.

I made some delicious garlic toast using olive oil. However, since I imagine that olive oil isn't a viable substitute for butter in all cases (olive oil bagels? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":p">), I got some dairy-free margarine earlier.

Just an FYI, but I tried the smart balance light and compared to EB there is no contest, IMO. I didn't like the smart balance at all....EB is still the best unless you are opting for the fewer calories in the smart balance. I'd rather have the earth balance, though.

My Mom bought Smart Balance stuff, but I haven't tried it yet. I know Smart Balance won't be as good as Earth Balance, so I don't even use it <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

If you are in the UK try Suma---it is the buttery tasting one on this side of the pond.
