Though of course not many people will realise this.<br><br><br><br>
The latest product and TV Ad for it has a voice over asking "Lettuce?", to which a guy (somewhat over-weight) yells "No!".<br><br>
"Tomato?"<br><br>
"No!"<br><br>
"Bean sprouts?"<br><br>
"No!"<br><br>
.... you get the idea.<br><br><br><br>
Then it goes on to advertise the "Big Bloke BK Beef Burger"..... an extra long burger with only beef patties, cheese, and deep-fried onion-rings. Heart attack, anyone?<br><br><br><br>
I'd rather die than support Burger King in any way.

Reminds me of The Simpsons tribute to McDonald's "McRib" sandwich: The Ribwich ( "Now without lettuce" ) <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

BC of the word "bloke" I am assuming. We don't use that word. (I don't even really know what it means, is it like dude? or fella?)

Basically, a bloke is a guy (in Australia it used to mean "boss").<br><br><br><br>
At school there was a girl who was somewhat masculine.... we called her bloke. But then kids can be cruel.

If people could actually learn to objectively judge the media and ads it wouldn't work<br><br><br><br>
but as of today, 22 fevrier 03, people are still gullible and don't challenge what the almighty tube says and commands.<br><br><br><br>
the aryan nation still ****ing promotes killing jews and gypsies in favor of letting a master race populate the earth. it isn't the message but how the people are socialized to receive the message.

how can vegan.com support them when they have absolutely nothing that's vegan? infact they're pretty much the polar opposite of vegan.

I think that peta is supporting BK because they feel that if the veggie burger (the only item they are supporting, I think) becomes popular, other restaurants might start to add vegetarian fare to their menus. *shrugs*<br><br><br><br>
I tried the BK Veggie once, a few months ago. The bun is not completely vegan, but if the patty is microwaved and you leave off the mayo, it's close, I guess. (This was before I started trying to go vegan. I was lacto-ovo-veg at the time.)<br><br><br><br>
I have to say that with all the tasty veggie patties out there to choose from, the one they chose was awful. It's as if they were purposely trying to make it fail.<br><br><br><br>
"Oh, Americans don't want to buy veggie burgers...look at these numbers."<br><br><br><br>
Heh.

I don't like Burger King. I think everyone should be aware of how its bad for you but anyone who wants to eat there thats their problem not mine. I personally don't see how anyone could eat fast food its full of grease.

people can eat there because it is the norm, it is the most convinient place to eat, and it will make them stop being hungry. and advertisements tell them it's yummy and they love it.

But there are plenty of other places that are convenient for getting food where you can get something healthier for the avg person- Taco Bell, Subway, Wendy's (baked potatoes, pita pockets), etc. I think this may be why McD's and BK have been struggling lately. Evolve or die.

If you believe what the Subway TV Ads say (and ignore the small print that appears at the bottom of the screen (who doesn't?)), eating Subway sandwiches leads to weight loss.
