Monday night I fractured the side of my big toe and I found out today that I have to wear a special shoe thing and I really can't be active for 4-5 weeks. This is a bummer. I love working out daily and I love my yoga!

So I am pretty sure I can still do upperbody weights and ab workouts, but yoga and cardio is just out. It is painful for me to walk and it will take this long for my bone to fuse back to the side of my toe. I have been pondering what to do during this time to stay somewhat in shape.

Any ideas that I may be missing?

Thanks!

take some extra calcium. I broke my leg as a vegetarian-- you need it--broken bones become priority to the body and unless you give it more calcium, it will steal it from your other bones-- Good Quality Calcium (carbonate)/magnesium/ boron (cheleted) and move it as soon as you can. Micromovements cause faster bone knitting. Do PT if available. You do not want the tendons and so on faschia, skin, to become stuck to the bone-- it can happen and possible have a life-long effect-- Also keep it high, above your head-- and wear those tight elastic socks it will keep swelling down. ice it often. dont try to become active too soon. RICE. (I believe it means rest, Ice, compress and elevate.
