Excuse if this is in the wrong section,

My mum currently runs a small wildlife rescue in Kent (obviously I help out lots), we mainly specialise in hedgehogs but have had an array of birds in too! If you'd like I'll post some pictures of some of the hedgehogs we have in at the moment (on my phone right now, so can when I'm on my laptop)
But anyway I wanted to start a thread of British wildlife, I know their is a wide range of locations that people are from whilst looking around other threads, I have a real passion for wildlife so wanted to see what everyone's local wildlife is?! I'm really excited to see what everyone posts, does anyone get any rare wildlife near them?? :D

Hi! I'm interested to see pics of the hedgehogs! Maybe some of the birds, too?

I live in the southeastern US. Rare animals... not so much. I've got deer, alligators, raccoons, possums, armadillos, and the like.

Love British wildlife!

Living in Derbyshire I see quite a lot, unfortunately it's normally dead on the road :(

It's quite a challenge to drive down a country road and not hit anything.

I live in the Northeastern United States. We have some rare animals but I generally don't see them... in fact, a few weeks ago, I went on a short hike with a meetup group I just joined, and had a hard time seeing a rather brightly-colored bird near by, and two turtles in a pond, even when the other two members pointed them out to me.

There were two different instances where a manatee (one of my favorite animals) was sighted swimming near the mouth of the Hudson River, and they're rare- especially this far north!- but I only heard about it in the news- I didn't see them. At least one of them was captured and airlifted back down south.

Some of the common animals and birds in my area are whitetail deer, cottontail rabbits, opossums, raccoons, gray squirrels, skunks, and Canada geese. And woodchucks. LOTS of woodchucks.

EDITED TO ADD: I thought this was in one of the animal-related sections, not in the United Kingdom section- sorry!

I thought the same thing. :D The only wildlife I take pics of are insects and spiders. I'll try to capture pics of others.
